Happy Days Campground is a great Rustic Campground with tenting campsites as well as full hookups for RVs and campers at very reasonable rates ... The best thing, Happy Days is only 4 miles from one of the greatest attractions in New York ....Bethel Woods, the 69' Woodstock Concert Field and the historic Woodstock Museum (which is a must see... you'll thank me later). The campgrounds are covered in pine trees, so you awake to great, fresh smelling air. It's very clean. The showers, bathrooms and rec room were immaculate.
I drove my RV here, but on the premises, you can rent well restored, classical 3-wheel campers for a minimal fee and spend the night in camping luxury (and instead of my gas guzzling RV, I'll bring my car next time, instead and still save)....
Tim, one of the owners, is great. From his story, he had no intention of running a campsite. He was in corporate management. He came to Happy Days as a kid. When the woman who owned the site told him, he'd have to find another place to camp next year ... the wheels went into motion. This campsite is Tim and his brother's baby and the care and the high standards they have also shows in their appreciation of their customers ... and I'm sure that comes from having originally been a customer of the campsite.
Make sure you make reservations in advance, especially when Bethel Woods has a concert planned for the weekend. I was going to stay an extra day but I waited too long. Booked for the Bethel Woods...
Read moreWe had the perfect camping experience at Happy Days! We arrived after dark, but George helped us get set up with firewood and directions. The site was absolutely stunning to wake up to. The woods around are pretty open, and the foliage was incredible. We spent the day hiking nearby on great trails, and we stopped by Bethel Woods to see the Woodstock memorial.
The site had a well-maintained fire ring, a picnic table, and a flat, clear space for our tent. There was a fresh water spigot very close by, so we didn’t have to bring big jugs of water. There are bathrooms and showers available which were shockingly clean and nice to use.
The campgrounds weren’t too busy, so we had a lot of privacy and space to ourselves. The people we did run into were all incredibly nice and friendly.
The campground is pretty close to the raceway, so on Saturday night you could hear the car racing which was pretty loud. It was not an issue at all, and it ended before we went to bed.
Tl;dr WONDERFUL campgrounds with everything you need, friendly people, and in a gorgeous setting. We’ll definitely be...
Read moreBest camping experience I've ever had! This family owned and ran campground was perfect. We had an amazing time camping as well as getting to know the family. We drove from MN to Happy Days for a festival and I am so glad we found this campground. Nothing beats shuttle rides (in a flower van!) when you want the to and from the festival, hot showers and grilled food at the end of the night by the crew. The sites were huge and included electric hook ups if needed. We stayed at the top of "Hill Road" and I couldn't of picked a better spot. Thank you to the whole family at Happy Days for the best Memorial Weekend ever! Your Minnesotans miss y'all! Peace - Jared...
