Our stay at Prevailing Winds Lodge could not have been any more perfect. From the luscious bedding and soft linens to the stocked kitchen, the incredibly welcoming and gracious hosts to the breathtaking scenery, and the perfectly decorated and spacious lodge to the sprawling views of the prairie, where we picked wild berries to our hearts' content, Jen and Steve made our trip shine brighter than the sparkling nighttime stars ... which, by the way, were awe-inspiring too. We stayed in the lodge with three little kids, and they spent all day, every day, exploring the ins and outs of PWL, running around the grounds, playing hide and seek, and generally enjoying what their lives might be if they didn't actually live in suburbia. Our sleeping accommodations were second to none, incredibly comfortable and well-appointed, with every single thing we could ever need right at our fingertips. There was tons of space for us to spread out - a huge living room, a game area, big bedrooms, an oversized dining room, and a large kitchen. The wilderness and nature surrounding this lodge is absolutely unbelievable, especially to the eyes of desert rats like us. We could not take our eyes off the grandiose trees and wildflowers and babbling little creeks and rambling fields that went in every direction. ||And just when we thought our stay could not get any more lovely, Steve entered the kitchen. And BAM. Next level. He whipped up pancakes to order - raspberry white chocolate, banana walnut, chocolate chip - all with his own buttery maple syrup. And he didn't stop there. He made homemade raspberry white chocolate scones. And homemade berry muffins. He spent hours in the kitchen. One child was heard to exclaim, "These pancakes taste like what heaven is made of." I couldn't have said it better myself. Jen was there at every turn too, making sure we had just what we needed, doting on us, offering us ideas for entertainment, and being absolutely wonderful in every way. That couple deserves a trophy.||If you're reading this, GO TO PREVAILING WINDS LODGE. You will not regret it. I...

Read moreWe booked PWL as our wedding venue & it was the best decision we made in the planning process.
I truly wish I could get married at Prevailing Winds Lodge every weekend! My now husband and I toured it back in October 2019 and immediately fell in love. It was even clear to us back then just how amazing the owners, Jen and Steve, were/are. They pour so much sweat, hard work, and love into the property and it truly shows! We booked both the property and the lodge for the entire weekend (Thursday until Monday) since we wanted the ability to spend more time with our wedding parties and they loved it just as much as we do! Our friends and family are still raving about how beautiful it was and how they appreciated being able to have that time together since it goes so fast. We also hosted the rehearsal dinner at the lodge and it was seriously perfect!
Before the big day there is no way to appreciate just how much Steve & their staff do day-of, but now that we witnessed it firsthand, I can tell you wholeheartedly that they're there for EVERYTHING. Whether it's coordinating vendors' set up and arrivals the day before, talking you down and giving you a confidence boost before you walk down the aisle, passing out waters at 1am, or taking your stuff back to the cabin at 2am from the tent, Steve truly does it all! I don't know what we would've done without him. It's like having 10 built-in day-of coordinators to help you with anything and everything.
Like I said before, booking PWL as our wedding venue was seriously the best decision we made in the entire wedding planning process. If you're reading this review wondering if you should book it or not, PLEASE do yourself a huge favor and book it! You will seriously have the best time and Steve, Jen, and their staff will make sure that your wedding day is your dream come true. We have nothing but love and gratitude for PWL, Steve, Jen, and their staff! We will cherish our memories for the rest of our lives and they all are a HUGE...
