We went up for a long weekend in late may for our anniversary. Cabin 2 was so cute, very rustic, but clean. I loved the games and books available in the room. The kitchen was well appointed, had everything we needed. Two fireplaces, and they provide kindling, newspaper and matches to start the fire (fires were even ready to go when we got there...nice touch!), and a whole wood box full of wood! Amazing! We had a fire each night, even though it wasn't actually very cold. A great was to relax after a fun day. I loved being on the lake and hearing the Loons at night...that was pretty special (and spooky, kinda). The boat house has canoes, kayaks and tandem kayaks. They provide life jackets and some paddles. The boats are first come basis, which wasn't a problem while we were there. The lake is a good size, and we did find Loons which was what we were hoping for. Didn't see any little ones, though, we were too early in the season. They also have a Bowling Alley/Pool Table building down by the water. While playing pool, we had Loons calling right outside the window...so cool. The bowling alley was fun...you have to reset the pins manually, and send the ball back on a wooden track ball return...you have to see it to believe it, I wasn't expecting it to work!! Very cool, and entertaining. I loved that there's no TV, just a porch with ADK chairs and a nice view of the lake. The one real negative of our trip, which is no one's fault, is that the BUGS were RIDICULOUS. Lots of bug spray, and may I suggest looking ridiculous in a head net. Even out on the water in the kayaks, if there was no breeze (there was hardly ever a breeze) the bugs just congregated on your head. We did have head nets, otherwise it would have been unbearable. ||I have some comments, in the event management is reading this:||1. Do something about your boat house. There should be kayak stands where the boats are stored. Walking into the boathouse, the canoes and kayaks are all over the floor...they should be stored up on racks so that it's not hazardous to try wrestling individual boats past other boats. ||2. There are 4 kayak paddles (that I could find). There are enough kayaks/tandems for at least 8 people to be kayaking. So....||3. In Cabin 2 (at least) the smoke alarms are way to close to the fireplace (in the bedroom, anyway) and to the toaster in the kitchen. They're super sensitive and the alarms went off during a normal fire, and when making toast. I get that you recently had a fire, but there must be something you can do about that, perhaps a fan? ||4. I kinda wish all the porches were screened in...we weren't able to sit out there long due to bugs. Maybe that could be looked into. ||Don't get me wrong, I LOVED this place and it was relaxing and fun and we had a great time. These are merely suggestions to make it...

We were recently at the camp and DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE. WARNING: This amazing place is NOT for partying it up. This place is for a quiet, wonderful, relaxing, peaceful, enjoyable time away from hectic society. There are NO TVs or RADIOS in the guest rooms, which we were THRILLED about, and Internet access is ONLY in the Great Room, which we were also thrilled about because it forced us to disconnect from our devices as much as we could. In fact, my Honey refused to listen to any news of the "outside world.". There is what my Honey calls the "Great Silence" (she's a former hermit) from 10 pm through either 6, 7 or 8 am. During those times, guests are asked not to make noise to respect other guests who may be sleeping, enjoying quiet time, watching the starlit sky, etc. Our kind of place!!!!!! The camp is still having some renovations going on after the devastating fire in 2020, BUT the new rooms at the Lodge are beautiful. I believe each Lodge room has a gas fire stove and not wood, which we liked. It kept the place cozy, but we would turn it off when not in the room and when we went to bed. There was also a thermostat in our Lodge Room, which was self-controlled and does get warm fast, especially with the fireplace so we used it as needed. There is no parking in front of the rooms, and I believe the Great Room too but the guest parking lot is a very short walk. You can drive up though to unload and/or pack. Even though we went when things were beginning to thaw, and it was still cold, we did greatly enjoy our time there. The grounds are beautiful, and we hope to get back in warmer weather to go boating and do a little fishing, but most especially to relax and unwind. The camp literally does provide everything in the rooms. We had a stove, microwave, toaster, utensils, cookware, glasses, coffee mugs, a drip coffee maker, towels, etc. The refrigerator in our room was awesome. I would suggest keeping it at the recommended temperature in the fridge and freezer because during the evening the ice cubes froze within a half hour and they started popping out of the ice tray, LOL. Finally, we want to give a shoutout to the Innkeeper, Tim Moody. What a great guy. Don't hesitate to ask Tim anything. Oh, and when making reservations online, you may just want to check-in with Tim before hitting the purchase button just to be sure. We mentioned to him that we saw some of the dates in late spring were already taken up so we were going to choose a later date to go up there, but he said to call just in case. Thanks, Tim. See you soon, God...
Read moreWhite Pine Camp was the perfect punctuation for autumn. We stayed in Mrs. Coolidge's Cabin. One only needs bring food, clothes, and personal items for a trip here. "Fully-stocked" is definitely true. There are dishes, utensils, pots and pans, a coffee pot with everything needed to make coffee, tea, complimentary toiletries, books, magazines, puzzles, and games. There are even fans (box and oscillating types) in the closets. Not only was firewood provided, but the fireplaces were all set up and ready to just be lit. The beds were comfortable - great pillows and comforters too. The towels were thick and luxurious. The old-fashioned bowling alley (including the pool table) was a blast! The best thing, hands-down was the view! Breath-taking! The whole place sits on the edge of Osgood Pond, which is large enough to be called a lake in states that are not as water-laden as New York. Mrs. Coolidge's cabin looks out on the water from nearly every window. It was warm and cozy. We didn't have time to check out local hiking, but a book with guides sits on a side-table in the cabin. There seems to be a plethora of trails. Also, we didn't utilize them because of the time of year, but there are several kayaks and canoes available at the boathouse. We will definitely be back!
Quick note: Mrs. Coolidge's Cabin is adjoining the President's Cabin and sound carries quite well through the walls. If you have little kids or rowdy friends, consider renting both places or chosing another cabin so as not to spoil someone...
