Easy to get to and Easy to Exit! As we drove between the soybean field to the campgrounds we could not believe how spread out it was. For one you could not hear the thruway it the campground was set off far enough so no traffic was heard! The entrance was gated as we entered with someone to greet us and give us out site number and information about the park. We got set up along with our friends that got a site next to us. We pulled in this past weekend 7/22-7/24. It was so blasted hot we put our bathing suits on and headed to the pool. Everyone was nice and spoke to you. Joined in conversation in and out of the pool. Lots of laughs. We met several nice people of all ages. Back to camp, fix dinner and decided to go for a walkabout. The campground is big…385 TT’s, RV’s, 5th wheel’s etc! Several golf carts and I can see why!!! We waved along the to several people that either waved or said hello or stopped us to chat. Now it’s getting dark…we are a little lost finding our way back to camp. We stop a golf cart. The guys said hop on we will take you back, but first let us welcome you to the camp ground. We are permanent here. We were invited to have a beverage. Soon others gathered and they we people we had met at the pool. We stayed a bit and they we gracious to take us back to our site. It would have been a long walk. I must say…we have camped at several and I mean several places in the past few years. This is the most friendliest campground we have ever been to! Everyone speaks and says hello and goodnight. They even offer you a hand! This was our first time here and it will not be our last! I highly recommend River Forest Park. There is also security that is there for traffic control (family friendly) security monitoring the pool area at all times. Big bar with huge deck (we did not go to the bar) there was a live band on Sat night. It was not loud, it was managed well. We were close to that area. It was an enjoyable stay for the weekend. I even recognized a gal I had not seen in over 15 yrs on Sat at the pool. She has a permanent site and gave me a tour of the grounds and I was pleasantly surprised of the place. The campground is under new management she said and it is doing well and they are making changes and putting in more 30 and 50 amp services in. Again, check this place out! Happy Happy Camper !

This is the best campsite you can get! It’s beautiful, clean, and outstanding services. The new pool is a splash for kids and adults. If your looking for a SAFE family friendly environment This is it! Bringing your children to a place you TRUST is a big deal! Let me explain: Ms Lindsey listed in the review comments gave this establishment a bad review. In reality she failed to mention that this establishment took the right actions and measures after her children called my 12 year old daughter a “COLORED MONSTER”. The owners handled the whole situation very well and with the upmost respect. I can not thank them enough for not tolerating Racism! As for Ms Lindsey and her family I pray you teach her children how to be good human beings. You should be ashamed of yourselves for your behavior as adults. I personally consider your bad comments against this Establishment more harassment.

Was not impressed with this so called campground . It was more like a mobile park that was sectioned off by financial status. Some site were well taken care of and impressive another section had trailers that were run down and dirty. There was a field full of trailer sites that where so close together you had no room to do anything. We arrived on a Monday and the place was dead .no activities for the kids except the pool that offered no shade for the people watching the kids swimming. This being said the staff were very nice. The site we had,had water and electric and would be great for a couple of nights. But honestly this camp was more oriented for seasonal campers or campers who need an over night stop

The negative or one-star reviews are entirely accurate. It is crucial to consider these reviews, as the positive ones may be misleading. The owners of this campground exhibit appalling behavior. The wife is particularly rude, unprofessional, and displays a lack of respect for guests and seasonal campers. She selectively targets individuals for criticism, as evidenced by a video I own and I witnessed where she verbally abused a couple of children, referring to one of them as a “whore.” It is important to note that these were children of seasonal campers.||The wife’s propensity for lying is evident, as corroborated by numerous individuals who have experienced her behavior. The husband likely tolerates her mistreatment due to fear of retaliation. The campground owners lack respect for anyone, and I personally would not choose to camp in a place where I must bow down to them to be accepted.||There are several campers who are favored by the campground owners, and they appear to be exempt from consequences for their actions. Notably, there is a couple who frequents dining establishments with them and then boasts about it. It is inappropriate to boast about this relationship at the campground. Such behavior is unprofessional and can be seen as boastful.||It is essential to be honest about the true nature of this campground, as portrayed in the negative reviews. I sincerely hope that the owners are held accountable for the harassment and abuse they have inflicted on campers. I empathize with those who have experienced this situation, as the campground also engages in financial fraud.||Campers are often charged with money owed, even when they have paid. This has led to campers requesting receipts as proof, as the owners have a history of double-billing and threatening to remove or evict campers who do not pay promptly.||Camping at this establishment is not recommended due to the negative experiences described. It is advisable to save time and money by choosing a campground that values and respects its guests. I personally discontinued camping at this campground last year after enduring the owners’ behavior.||While I typically refrain from writing reviews, I believe it is important to share the truth about these individuals...

Got a permanent site their paid for the season up front, also paid for my 2 son's for the season also. The husband was nice the wife drove us around the camp, we told her we needed a shadey sport we were place next to the restaurant by the barbecue pit.I asked would we be able keep that spot. The wife said yes she seemed to be in charge she was a little aggressive, about a week or so later my wife let my daughter and her boyfriend stay in our camper for the night. Understand my went to the office and paid for her and him before my wife returned home she also went to the office to make sure everything was good to go and to pay for their stay. The next day the husband went to the window of my camper stared into the bedroom window scaring my daughter instead of knocking on the front door. A argument induced and he kicked them out of the camp ground. My showed up and was told that my daughter was staying illegally even though they paid to be there. After that the wife called me and said I hadn't paid my electric deposit I explained to her the reason it hadn't been paid was because the husband told not to worry about it just pay it when we pay our renewal contract fee which would have been I believe $1400 electric deposit included in this amount. Unknown to me when my wife picked up my daughter the owners wife had apparently decided that she wasn't gonna renew us for the site we had. Each time I or my wife called to let them know we hadn't received a renewal contract there was always an excuse. The owners wife called me complaining that I hadn't paid the electric deposit I told her we had not got a new contract and that I would be there in an hour to pay it. I paid the deposit and spoke with the husband he said that there were no issues and that I would receive a contract to sign in a few days. I never received it. When I called to ask why the wife said rudely your site is no longer available I said how they guaranteed the same site she told that I could leave and she didn't care if stayed or not. So I drove and removed my camper photos of the site and electric meter because I didn't trust them it's been a few months and I still have not...
