We were really looking forward to visiting this camping resort but because of weather, we decided to move our reservation. However upon calling to move our reservation, we find out that they only do cancellations and we would have to make a new reservation meanwhile losing ALL of the money that we paid for the original reservation and would have to pay again (the full amount). Now, there policy clearly states that you need at least 7 days to cancel a reservation and they would charge a fee. We were told differently over the phone but whatever, it's on their website so I understand. What I have an issue with, is that NO WHERE on their website does it state that moving/rescheduling a reservation is treated like a cancellation. NO WHERE on the website does it mention moving/rescheduling reservation period. The girl on the phone even told my husband the resort changed the policy because the management makes more money by charging people the full amount for rescheduling!! While I get that this is a business and they need to make money... AT LEAST HAVE THE COURTESY TO HAVE THAT POLICY YOUR WEBSITE! This is people's money and they should know exactly what they are getting into when paying for a service. I felt that the manager I spoke to about this issued was a bit unprofessional and even a bit smug. Definitely did not help move our reservation and basically said oh well that's our policy. Again, I am not upset that rescheduling is treated like a cancellation (if that indeed is their policy) but have that on your website clearly stating it so that there is no confusion. I gave Sky High Camping Resort two star because, 1. Their costumer service in this situation was terrible and 2. Because I haven't actually stayed in the resort and I find it unfair to give them one star without actually...
Read moreWe took a last minute camping trip and this was our only option with weekend availability, now I can see why. I would not recommend this campground to families but I would to my older retired relatives. This campground seems to be more geared towards that crowd. Cons: •Everything was very outdated. The play equipment needs to be updated for sure. •The uneven cement around the pool area (the side without the kiddie pool) is definitely a falling hazard. My son sprained his ankle on the uneven cement. •They do not tell you about the trails by your sites when checking in, we found out about these by just taking one and seeing where we ended up. They have easier routes to the store and pool via these trails. •Not a lot to do for the kids. •90% of the arcade games were broken. •Showers and bathrooms were always dirty. With over flowing trash cans in the stalls with feminine waste. •Shower stalls have almost no where for you to place your items when showering. You get a bench that is probably 5x12 to set all of your things. •The sites are awkwardly laid out, my sister was in 19 and it was very hard to figure out the layout and you're basically on top of your neighbors. We were in 52 which although beautiful it was not conventional for a large tent as it is almost all gravel. •Outdated golf carts and only offer 4 seaters, and they will scold you if you have more than 4 (understandably so however there are also no options for families who are larger than 4) Pros: •BARTENDER ROB!! This man single handedly made us enjoy our weekend. He was so fun at Bingo and interacted with our young ones so well. This man is such an asset to this campground. What ever they are paying him it is not enough. •Beautiful scenery •Most of the staff was very kind, the young girls working the store were always...
Read moreBeautiful property and views. We stayed in a new cabin (wasn't even listed on the website yet) and so I had to call a few times to get information about size, etc.. I was told multiple times that there were 2 bunk beds, totaling 4 beds in one room, and a full bed in the back bedroom, along with a pull out couch. Turns out, there was one bunk bed, and the coach was a futon that was too close to the kitchen counter to pull out. My family of 6 had a very difficult time getting comfortable. Especially for how much we paid! The cabin is large, but laid out poorly and inefficient for any more than 4 people. It also was at a different side of the property than we were told. We expected to be facing the pool/basketball court. Instead, it was down the driveway behind farm equipment and wood piles. A short walk, but still not what we planned for. The pool was nice, but crowded!! Large kiddie pool was nice for the little kids. Prices at the bar and the store weren't too crazy, definitely inflated, but not that bad. The game room was a big hit while we waited out the storm. Volleyball court and tennis court were also mentioned on the phone, but weren't completed yet. THE BEST PART WAS THE EMPLOYEE: EMMA! She worked the night shift in the bar on Saturday and again in the store on Sunday. She was very personable and knowledgeable. She understood our grievances and offered some solutions. Our stay would have been better if the cabin was what we expected, and if there were more amenities available. I'm guessing by next summer they will have the courts finished and it will be a more...
