I stayed in a tent from 9/5/24 to 9/7/24. It is a great base camp for accessing the East side og GNP. I have read a lot of reviews from people criticizing the "packs of dogs" "cold showers" and road noise. I am writing this review to let people know that yes there are what are known as "Rez Dogs". They run free and are not mean. If you have spent any time on or around a Reservation you will be familiar with them. It is almost a fixture at every Rez I have ever been to and honestly I enjoyed their morning visits looking to share some scrambled egg. I also appreciate the barking because they let me know when bears were nearby (which there was one that the camp host kept a close eye on and communicated personally with the campers about the situation) If you have dogs and don't want the Rez Dogs visiting, just shoo them away and keep you pet's food put away (which should be done anyway because of bears) Next, the hot water for both mens and women' showers is run off of one very large water heater. If you wait until after everyone in the campground has showered you will get a cool shower. This seems like common sense to me. If you want a hot shower, get your butt in there before other campers. Road noise was annoying but I will say that it dies down overnight while you sleep. I am a very light sleeper and I wasn't woke up once by road noise. But I stayed at Avalanche and Apgar campgrounds later and they were no quieter and I had to put up with a group of campers' axe throwing game all flippin night completely ruining the peace. I will say that the owners have made a very nice effort planning their facility. For the price, I was pleased to find such a lovely bathroom and shower facility. A laundry center, dish washing station and even a pay per use sauna! When I finished the Avalanche Overlook hike from Many Glacier Hotel (11.3 miles and over 2000' elevation gain) I was so relieved to take a hot shower and have a giant scoop of mint chip ice cream from the general store! I was in heaven! Marcus is an awesome and accommodating host. Prices in the store are so reasonable and they stock all the essentials that you may have forgotten at home - including bear spray! I will be back. I enjoyed this more than my GNP campgrounds. Better amenities and the same low price. People need to really be more realistic with expectations and appreciate the thoughtfulness that went into this campground. Thank you Marcus for being a great host!

I'm honestly shocked by the great reviews. We were sorely disappointed in our experience. We came over the busy 4th of July weekend and owners were nowhere to be found. Office closed, cafe closed, store closed. Showers were FREEZING. Absolutely no hot water. Womens bathroom was a mess (see photo) with 2 of the stalls out of toilet paper. People were washing chili pots in the bathroom sinks because there is no campers wash station. Campground is RIGHT on the road, with considerable road noise (we were tent camping). The owners dogs roam the property, which is great (we love dogs) but our own dogs weren't quite as open to the visits and the owners dogs eating their dog food. With a little effort, this place could be much better, but we won't be back. For the same price you can stay at Johnson's in St. Mary which is considerably nicer.

There are a lot of campgrounds in this area, some with magnificent views but after a long day cycling against the wind this one had a cafe and grocery store attached to it and I ended up staying. Modest little campground with clean bathrooms and showers. A little cramped tent camping area but fortunately for me there weren't a lot of people that night. I'm riding the Northern Tier Route via bicycle from east to west and this mornings ride was magnificent! Had to stop several times to capture the beauty the best I can with my camera. At the time of writing this, they seem to be expanding so by next year there will be more camping options. I enjoyed my visit. Tent camping sites were a little expensive, but I guess that is to be expected being so close to Glacier.

I left this same review on Roverpass. We arrived before 5 and the office was not open and we had to call several times for them to answer to find what space we were in. They had us in a space that only had a 110 outlet. We called them back and they said they would bring us an adapter the next morning. When we got back from our adventures of the day, the adapter was there - probably the only positive thing about the stay. Not sure why they couldn’t bring it over when we checked in. It appears that someone lives on property since there are dogs roaming around and a trampoline next to a cabin. We knew we would only have electricity and would be able to do laundry and take showers on property, at least we filled out tank in our trailer before we arrived. That is kind of hard to do when they DON’T have water. No one bothered to tell us that they were having water issues. They could have at least put a note on the bathroom door. With no water - how did they keep the cafe open? There response when I called was - you can go to the KOA and take a shower, you can also cancel your reservation. KOA charges $15 per shower, by the way and I’m sure they wouldn’t pay us back for them. They also said the water would be fixed the next day. We were there 4 nights and the water only worked once. How about communication on the first day so we can make the decision to stay or not? I feel sorry for the people in cabins that didn’t have bathrooms. Their option was to go to the bathroom outside of their cabins. This place is cheap for a reason. Avoid...

We made reservations for this site online. When we arrived there wasn't any staff on site and no one was in the office building. There was a number on the front door, so we tried calling that but no one answered and the voicemail wasn't even set up. We walked around and talked to other guests staying at the site, and they said no one was here when they arrived either and to just pick an open spot. So we did. No staff showed up for the remainder of the day/evening, so we were unable to get a password for WiFi since no one was here and nothing was posted. We also were never able to check in.

The campground itself is tiny. The entire property appears to be less than 1 acre. Camp sits are stacked on top of each other with no privacy. The RV next to us was literally 6 feet away from ours. The facilities are junky/dirty and appear to be poorly maintained.

The following morning we carried a bag of trash up to the front and went to place it in a trash bin by the front office, and at that point someone did emerge from the front office and rudely told us not to put our trash there. This was the one and only time we saw and interacted with any staff on site.

We promptly left and went to another campground. There are many options for camping and RV's in this area. Do yourself a favor and...
