Overall, I was very satisfied with this campground. The restrooms were clean and I actually saw someone maintaining them on a daily basis. The shower facilities were also clean; my only complaint about them was that most of the showers had a cord that you pulled to start the flow of water, which would shut off as soon as you released the cord. It made it a little tricky, but the water was hot and stayed hot the entire time. As far as the campsites go, the photos on the website can be a little deceiving. While our site (#66) was "on the water," it definitely allowed for a view of the lake, albeit obstructed. There was no possible way for us to get to the lake from our site. It was a sheer drop off. Also, our site was next to someone's house; the owners showed up on Saturday and were doing yardwork...they were really nice people, but it kind of took away from the camping atmosphere. As far as sizes of campsites go, #66 is the way to go. It is the entire end of the road, with more than enough room. Be careful when pitching your tent though--the closer you are to the main road, the more of an incline there is. The road is an heavily traveled 55 mph road, which made sleeping a little difficult. #66 also has an hidden surprise (which you will see if you camp there). The rest of the sites in the area are much smaller. The lake is beautiful and we were able to catch a lot of fish, including small mouth bass. It was stunning in the morning with the sun shimmering off of it. There is also a gas station nearby with a store inside of it for anything you may have forgotten. I would absolutely camp here again. My suggestion would be to find someone who has been there to let you know about the sites, as they can be on the smaller side, and they can be deceiving from the photos on the website.

My boyfriend and I stayed here a couple of weeks ago for our vacation. It was my first time staying at a camp site, and I loved it! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The site we had was a good size and a one minute walk away from the shore of Schroon Lake. Beautiful view. I enjoyed several mornings starting my day doing meditation and yoga on the lake shore. We did kayaking - again, my first time - and the experience was easy and affordable. I appreciated the water spigot available near our site, and the benches and fire pit. The standalone bathrooms were satisfactory, and the showers were amazing! Water was always nice and warm, and the facilities were clean and updated. My only wish was that the water had the ability to get cold when I did want a cold rinse after our hikes in the heat. (But warm/hot water is more important, so I'm not complaining.) Lots of cute little chipmunks everywhere. This location wasn't far from the local small town if you need groceries, restaurants, or a liquor store. It's only thirty minutes from Lake George, so we were able to enjoy downtown Lake George a couple of times during the week. A lot of wonderful hiking spots nearby as well. I suggest Severance Mountain for a relatively easy hike and gorgeous view. Looking forward to going back next year! 😊

Beautiful lakeside campground! Firewood & Ice truck comes around daily which is very convenient. Showers are pull-chain operated, which is very INcovenient. Due to the COVID pandemic, only one stall is open in each bathroom, otherwise it would have been a 5-star rating. Nonetheless, I'll definitely be back!

Schroon lake is beautiful and scenic but eagle point leaves much to be desired. The sites are various sizes, some much smaller and less private than sites at other NY state parks. The real trouble with this place is the staff and atmosphere. If your idea of camping is being in bed by 8 pm you will love this campground. If you want to stay up around the campfire for a few hours talking with friends then prepare to be treated like a child. You are only allowed two tents per site yet they don't care how large the tents are. We had three tents that were each a two person size. The site next to use had two 10 person tents and a 20 foot long covered carport , but only we were spoken to by the ranger. The worst part was other management staff had already ok'ed our tents but the ranger didn't care. Most guests at this campground are in bed by 8 pm, by 9pm it is dead silent. We sat around the fire until around 11 and were talking at a volume that was reasonable based on past experiences. In fact we could not be heard from the nearby bathroom yet somehow the next day the ranger told us someone had complained about the noise. Complete buzzkill, it might be great for some but not what we were looking for and not what were expecting based on other reviews. Will not return. To sum it up: the lake and beachfront are great, nice for families who go to bed early. awful for anoyone else that wants to have a good time camping with a...

Eagle Point Campground, A New York State-operated park located on the beautiful Schroon Lake πŸ–πŸ Not only is its location perfect, but it's a near dream of serenity πŸ₯° Recommend staying near the beach area, as it's a beautiful spot. And within 50 feet of the lake! Plenty of tree cover for if it's raining..(p.s-It's raining. πŸ˜‚ Make the best of lemons my friends 🧑) They have some very nice washrooms/bathrooms up by the entrance. I haven't been to the others yet. But they have them scattered around. There are cooking pits/fireplaces πŸ”₯🍳 at each site. Water spickets scattered around. A boat launch. Pic-a-nic tables! Ohh ya, and a big lake! πŸ’§πŸŒŠ Check it out! πŸ‘€πŸ‘€ One very particular item of business I wish to mention... Service! Not just service, but the person who made the service great, Mary G.! She is the New York State Park Employee who checked us in, and did an above-and-beyond job with knowledge and again with help! Not only did Mary help solve our issue encountered, but she got us in an equally good spot! (Bad weather the day and week before caused some wash-out at our original site. No worries my friends!) Mary did a great job while maintaining a very nice and welcoming atmosphere! Thank you again, Mary! And thank you Eagle Point Campground for making a great family experience of the Great ADK ⛰️⛰️ of New York State

Now go enjoy some nature🌳🌲🏝 and get off this...
