The camping trip was great solely because of our family! The list of issues is extensive. The resort would not honor our requested site, despite making reservations 6 months in advance because they were made at the corporate number and not at the actual resort. Although we’ve been camping here for over five years straight and getting the same sites the same exact way, they neglected to tell us they changed a site to seasonal. Ours was so far away from the rest of our family’s group that our evening routine and hang out was essentially ruined. We brought two children under 16 and on the phone were told we would be charged for them although their website states under 16 is free. When the website was referenced, the resort staff had to look it up because they didn’t even know. We were on the south shore and paid for wifi for a week. North shore was the only wifi available and the service was useless. When asked, the campground has nothing to do with it and referred us to the service provider. A total waste of money. The power service, as a full hookup resort, was constantly going out. Maintenance came around more than once to reset breakers as they were popped over and over. If it was hot, AC units were running and tripping breakers, leaving outages. Individual sites don’t have the same amenities or size. Our site has an enormous fire ring with a grilling grate and one group had a fire pit half the size, the other had no fire ring. The campground could spend more time maintaining the goose poop and trash around sites and in the water, and less time criticizing golf carts going 7 mph in a 5 mph zone. There was a plastic dish in the water last year, and the same plastic dish still exists today. Kids can’t drive golf carts, although they do constantly. Quiet time is 11 but isn’t enforced. A limit of 6 occupants in the store is blatantly ignored. This limit set because of Covid-19. Staff is rude if you’re not a seasonal camper. We paid to take a pedal boat for an hour and in the first three minutes had to switch it out as it was obviously broken and would only go left. The staff had no idea it was malfunctioning. We were told to wear masks at the window of the food restaurant although employees behind the counter were not wearing masks. Someone came up behind me and was waited on by a different employee, neither wearing a mask. We were told to wear masks in the general store while employees behind the glass were not wearing masks. Prices are above average but this is the same in any resort. It would be normalized if they were putting money back into the resort. Our children loved the pool! Pool time and occupancy was limited due to Covid-19 to an hour and 45 minutes and 48 people. It was the best and only amenity available. It’s unfortunate that this year’s experience has led me to writing a full review. Initially, I was going to give two stars. The details outlined could be overlooked individually but compounded and seeing these things over the years, it’s clear the manager of the campground does not plan to change anything. This isn’t a lake resort, it’s a campground with a pool and a sludge filled pond and dirty bathrooms.

Ok this was a horrible stay. We are Thousand Trail members and expect a decent spot. This campsite (#10)was terrible. It’s more suited for a tent than an rv. We apparently got the bottom of the bucket in rv spots, the spot that no one else wants apparently. If they try to put you in spot #10 don’t even go to look at it, just tell them no thanks and make them give you another spot. It’s near impossible to get into this spot without hitting a tree. You can of course run over their cement patio in the spot if you have to, and you WILL have to in order to get in and avoid trees. You must back into this spot and which leaves the hook ups on the wrong side of the rv. We had to run our electrical and water hose under the rig to the opposite side. Don’t even attempt that with the dump hose! If you even try to pull in going forward you better have super long power and drinking hose connections because they are at the front of the spot, not the back where they should be. The lady in the office looked very surprised when we told her that we were able to get our rv into this spot. Almost as if no one has been able to do so before today. We also told them we needed 50 amp service and they gave us a spot with only 30 amp service. Good thing I had the appropriate connectors because they wouldn’t have had any to lend us. This place is huge and way too crowded. There is a mixture of old and new rigs (many look like they’ve been here unmaintained for years. Most of the rigs here tend to be trailers, we only saw a few motorhomes. Probably because the spots in here are so tight and have little room for maneuvering to get motorhomes in and out. We stayed once, won’t stay again. The only thing that was decent was the taco bowl at the restaurant.

I had the very best experience at Alpine. First we were wrongly booked on a site not big enough for our camper by our traveling company. Mike and Kiersten at the front desk was so kind and helped us into a great spot that had the best views! This place is absolutely perfect for your family and your fur babies. So many things to do there. You can rent Golf carts paddle boards, kayaks and John boats. Plenty of play grounds throughout the park for the kids and the dog park is larger than most parks I've been to. I seen many dogs enjoying the paw water tap on demand! The heated pool was a plus! There are so many beautiful little areas to enjoy quite time or fishing with family. I honestly can't say enough about this place. The store is perfect. The store has all the things you need. A convenient store with also camper repair items just incase you missed anything. I loved the Hoodies, kids doggie merchandise in store as well. My family really enjoyed the beautiful lakes and the hospitality of the people at Alpine lakes. I hope the Pictures do it justice for anyone considering to stay.

My family and I have spent many summers at alpine lake & up until last month I would never have imagined I would leave a negative review about our experience but here we are. I will premise this review with I assume The park has probably never dealt with a situation like this in the past judging from the way they handled it. My daughter and I walked down to the showers to do just that. Shower. I walked in; checked every single stall, to the point that my daughter asked why I was doing that. I explained you never know who and if someone is supposed to be somewhere they aren’t supposed to be. She goes in first to shower, I stand out watching the door. We switch; and she does the same. I’m finishing up and my 6 year old daughter mind you.. says a man just walked in. I immediately hurried and covered myself. Now it’s about 30 seconds I’m rushing to put shorts on & then sex sounds, moaning and cursing from behind the shower stall he walked into. I stood frozen for a minute but decided to not stay silent and subject myself and my daughter to that trauma. I screamed that I was with a child and to leave. I chased him out of the bathroom where he was met by a couple who held him until I could get to my husband and call the police. Here’s where I want to acknowledge somethings that just don’t sit with me. 1. This person was not 21 drunk and not a seasonal guest but a guest of one. He was given the pass to stay overnight because he “was drunk” 2. Took 38 minutes for police to come, I pray nothing more sinister never happens there with 2 lakes and 2 pools because Warrens county is far and wide. 3. The showers and laundry room had a sign claiming it was under video surveillance & when my husband asked about it we were told they were in fact not on. 4. I’ve seen multiple people rave about Justin the activity director; he might be great at running the games but he was completely unprofessional that night and honestly 1/2 the reason we won’t ever come back. 5. We were told the seasonal member who this creep was with were being removed from the park and lost their seasonal site over this which sucks for them but live and learn who you have around your circle.

I went back and forth about making this review but after hearing my 6 year old ask if there was a bad man in this bathroom too at the fair last week was a reminder that it’s not about me it’s about someone else. I’m 37. A strong female raised by a Sargent in the police force. I wasn’t gonna stand there and listen to that and absorb that trauma a single second longer but I truly feel in my bones that a young girl or someone without the foresight to check their surroundings would have been paralyzed in fear & stood there. The police ultimately did nothing. Slapped him on the wrist. We requested the report from warrens county and will be going forward with a...

This is really a 4 to 5 star resort! I had to deduct 2 stars for our experience. Really too bad, as it's very nice here!!

We were able to book 7 days in an ELITE site for this first week of May (Reserved 60 days ago!). These are said to be by the lake! Well, when arriving, they gave us site somewhere in the back, "close" to the big lake (it was by the "stagnant" little side- lake). I haven't been here before so I figured that was OK, as it was an elite site??

When arriving by the site #262 (after navigating NARROW rows between BIG trees with BIG branches (we have a 40 ft 5th wheel!), it turns out the site is way to small, it's completely washed out by the rain/snow, AND is at a huge slope! Most sites in this section are for SMALLER rigs than us (and pray you have 4 wheel drive!). It's now after 5 o'clock, so the office is closed (and only voicemail on the phone). Exhausted, we set up camp in the woods, the rig all crooked with our wheels 4 inches in the mud! And yes, I managed to almost rip my bumper off from this boulder of a tree! (my fault!) 😫

The next day I walk to the front desk and tell them about our site "dilemma". The manager gave us a new site, by the big lake, telling the other front staff: "don't put anyone in this section". I got no "OMG, I'm SOOOO sorry it happened to you, this will never happen again, what can I do to make it better", or anything like that. All I got was "if this was me, I would NOT have put you in that site".

Well, that's fine, we packed up and drove to the new site (#210). It really IS MUCH nicer, with a fantastic view! Only problem, it's the softest site in that section (and did I mention it's one of the shortest in the section). We fit, but it's just by a hair (our tail sticks out over the lake). The funny thing is that ALL the ELITE sites next to us ARE vacant!!!!!! And some of them are even 50 amps! Though, I'm here to have a good time, I wasn't going back to the office again. We wanted to relax and camp!

Well, after that I've spent 3 days trying to get a billing error fixed. When they moved our site, "someone" clicked something in the computer raising the price! Something was added that we had "12 extra adults" as well as a 50 amp site. Management here blames Thousand Trails (as they made the reservation), while Thousand Trails blames the staff here (as the reservation was originally "correct").

And I'm just here to "trying" to have a relaxing time. Has anyone had similar problems here??

If not, just watch the front desk staff CAREFULLY and ASK questions!!

PS: Last few pictures are from our NEW site (really nice!) and one from our...
