We just finished a 1 week tent camping trip at Hudson Pines with a medium size group to see Phish at SPAC. We had a blast! Beautiful, wooded sites on the Pine loop were perfect for our needs and it appeared that most if not all sites had water and electric hookups. We had a group of 3 couples, plus a family of 5 (3 kids under 5) joined us the second half of the week after the concerts were over. This is a great basecamp for day trips to the high peaks, Saratoga Springs, Lake George, or wherever your mood takes you. There is easy access to hikes for all ability levels and kayaking / canoeing on site. When we had the company of our 3 and 5 year old nieces and nephew later in the stay, they really enjoyed the pool and playground. During the concert weekend, the campsite stayed quiet and calm (we're too old to party all night, lol). The biggest disturbance was from a party at one of the seasonal camper's RVs, and that was resolved easily by a quick text to the campground staff - even at 2 in the morning the noise completely ended within 15 minutes of sending the text. All staff were super friendly and helpful, the other campers were great and overall we were left with such a nice impression that my husband and I just booked Labor Day weekend for ourselves. We did not see the inside of the cabins or glamping tents but from the pathway both looked like great options for someone who doesn't want to have to rough it but still wants to be surrounded by nature. We are really looking forward to our next stay, this time with our dogs and...
Read moreWhat a find! We stayed at the Willow cabin for a magical 4 days and it was everything my family needed to unplug and just... be a family. Modern life is stressful- work, kids running in so many different directions to activities, never-ending PTA emails; a few days a Camp Hudson Pines was just what we needed. I definitely recommend a stay here, especially if you have young kids! The view was amazing, early morning kayaking while the sun rose was breathtaking, my kids loved playing in the little beach area and the Camp is a very convenient location to some great surrounding areas. Even better, there's a small, but surprisingly well-stocked grocery store a 4 minute drive from the camp. Our family has a lot of food sensitivities and allergies between the 6 of us (gluten free, dairy free, allergies to some fruits) and it was such a life-saver to be able to find familiar options. Some great restaurants options in Saratoga Springs, also was thrilled to find some fabulous options that met my families needs (loved the white bean pizza at 9 Miles East Farm)! Anyway, the new owners for this campground are fantastic. All in all I 100% recommend a stay at Camp Hudson Pines especially if you are looking for an opportunity to connect with...
Read moreWe had the most relaxing and adventurous few days at Camp Hudson Pines. As we pulled into the camp, we were welcomed by the friendly staff at the general store and given all the information we needed for our stay. As we drove to our home for the next few days, Tamarack Cabin, we were excited to see a hammock, picnic table, and Adirondack chairs in our side yard -- perfect for enjoying the view of the Hudson River. Tamarack was the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern convenience. The cabin included many seating areas, as well as an outfitted kitchen, and outdoor grill. One night we ordered Rocco's pizza, which I highly recommend! The beds were comfy and the blackout shades helped us sleep in every day. The campground had a lovely atmosphere and we felt comfortable letting our kids (11 & 13) roam around on their own. They enjoyed the pool, the river, and the ping pong table. After a couple of days of relaxing in nature, we decided to try a white water rafting trip with Wild Waters Outdoor Center in nearby Warrensburg. It was an amazing full day of rapids on the Hudson. There's so much to do in the area. We would return in...
