Omg! I love coming here! we come up often. Very kid and family friendly. We have a year round membership BUT you can rent out spots for the weekend or week long passes. Everyone drives a golf cart because it’s pretty large but walking is fine too. They have a lot of amenities like pools, playground equipment, a lake with canoe and kayak rentals, mini golf, a bar/restaurant, a store, full bathrooms with showers and hair dryers, vending machines, bike/walking trail, football or large field to play games, a mini remote control car racetrack, a gated small dog park… so so much to do here! They have scheduled events as well for families and adults like concerts or trick or treat events for kiddos and seasonal activities like a firework show, parade, etc. We get service on our phone here and I have ATT for reference but sprint sucks here (sorry) NO WIFI anywhere but that’s the point right? Like I said very fun, very family oriented, kids everywhere! The campers are so nice and neighborly. A lot of them actually LIVE here full time all year! Not rustic AT ALL. I’m from the city and I did not feel out of place at all! bring your dogs!! Bring your friends!! A million times YES! Bonus, there are a lot of Amish families in the area . They have small stores that you can support and they make amazing homemade pies and jellies and baked goods. ONLY thing I wish could change would be adding solar lights throughout the trails because at night it gets dark YEP and if you’re walking and don’t have a golf cart or flashlight it can be a (little) daunting for your first couple times. I highly recommend coming and getting AWAY from city life for a few days. !! Didn’t take so many pics because I was too busy enjoying it but hopefully you get the gist. Truly a great place to relax and connect with family...
Read moreUpon first arrival the park seemed in order, and even throughout the first night things went okay. On the second day however things started going awry. Don't get me wrong, if you are in the party scene with a lot of people drinking and swearing, constantly, you would fit right in. For that review I would give it a 5 out of 5. If, however, you are looking for a family friendly atmosphere, I would have to give it 3 stars.( mostly because of the aforementioned things.) Take for example having a pool, you have at the pool many signs forewarning pool goers of tools you must abide by, or you maybe kicked out of the pool. But enter this scenario many kids who don't care and break the rules. They know nothing is going to happen. (My point....) what's the point of having rules and warnings by the pool if there is no one to enforce them. Also one of the Joy's of the campground was being woken up at 130 in the morning by drunk people arguing and then the panic on there car going off, then at 2, 3 and 4 when camp goers were going by on there golf cart blasting music arguing with other drunk people. And the rules mention quiet time at 11. Again, an enforcing issue. Needless to say there is much room for improvement, and without that improvement, I would not recommend camping here. Unless you are in the party scene, then you would fit right in.
On the plus side, the lake the campground is on, is absolutely stunning, also the fireworks show that took place was...
Read moreI normally don't post bad reviews, but I feel this one is necessary. Back in May, I reserved 2 water/ electric sites for last weekend. I was charged $90 per night per site. I thought that was quite expensive, but I was okay with it because of the new swimming pond with inflatables that was advertised. (We have been to their sister campground Oasis numerous times and loved their pond with inflatables). Well, the pond is not even close to being completed at Kinney Lake. I understand that things don't always go as planned, so I overlooked it. We met some super nice people while we were there and we were informed that the price of a nightly site was reduced to $60. I talked to a manager of C & D Hospitality hoping to get the reduced price as well. I was told the price we booked at is the price we get. In her words, "it's like when you book an airline ticket. Prices go up and down". WHAT???? I have never heard of such a thing for campground reservations. We have only been camping for 4 years, so I am by no means an expert, but that seems odd to me. I was hoping to get the reduced rate as I didn't feel I should be penalized just because I reserved early. Had I waited until last minute to reserve our sites I would have saved $180. The manager was not willing to work with me at all. Very disappointing. Guess we won't be returning to any of the 3 area campgrounds they own. As we all know, there are many other campgrounds to...
