We had a wonderful experience at The Perch Hotel!! It is uniquely located to offer a breathtaking view and access to the Catskill Mountains.
Before arriving, we were called by the front desk staff to confirm our stay. They offered a special accommodation of pillow firmness preference. I've never been asked if I prefer a soft or firm pillow at a hotel. This was a pleasant surprise!
Upon arriving, we were so happy that the parking lot was close to the front door. No long walks from the car to the hotel entry like at commercial hotels. We were then greeted by the front desk attendant which quickly checked us in, gave us the room number and the door entry code. I don't recall her name, but she was so professional and pleasant to speak to.
Since it is a small hotel, there is also an entry code to the front door which means that only booked guests can gain access inside. This made me feel safe in a remotely located hotel.
They do, however, have a vintage looking but actually modern pay phone (no money required) at the door that calls the front desk when requesting the initial entry into the facility. I enjoyed using that phone. It's so cute! The hotel is small which gives it such a homey feel.
The dinning room/event hall/bar was also beautiful. The floors and bar are a beautiful Hard wood and there is a lovely fireplace off to the side with some very comfortable couches.
The bar had several records of timeless music on display. This spoke to the multi-cultural influences of this mountain cottage with modern flavor! To me, this says "everyone is invited"
In the evening, they hosted a paint and sip event which allowed us to mingle with other guests. It was so fun getting to know everybody there.
And then the room!!! The room has a large window overlooking hundreds of miles. l actually saw a hawk fly by my window early in the morning. The room is decorated in a manner that offers a vintage mountain cabin vibe with notes of modern inspirational art.
Everything about this place was wonderful!! I absolutely recommend this hotel. 5 out of 5 stars!!! I can't wait to go back and see the new amenities that they will be adding in the...
Read moreDuring a recent girls trip, my friends and I decided to stay at The Perch Hotel in East Windham, a newly renovated boutique hotel along Rt 23. Upon checking in, we were given our room codes for their keyless entry system making coming and going a breeze. The hotel is the perfect blend of old and new - keeping the coolest and most eye catching vintage decor from the original hotel and beyond. There is so much to marvel over and take in when hanging out in the lobby or walking around - comfortable seating, good music, vintage wallpaper, framed blueprints, and fantastic views abound. The rooms were tastefully updated with mid century modern furniture and were clean and very comfortable. Amenities included a mini fridge, water bottles, access to an ice machine, air conditioning and an air purifier (a very welcome touch)! In the morning tea/coffee with a variety of dairy and non dairy options and fruit/baked goods were provided. The sweetest hotel receptionist provided a list of restaurants, shops and hikes in the area. Based on that we ended up making an impromptu trip to Hudson for lunch and shopping after our hike! Highly recommend a stay at Perch Hotel. My friends and I had so much fun that we want to come back in the winter for more exploration of the area while staying at such a...

We had such a magical stay at The Perch Hotel in East Windham! The view alone is worth the trip — on a clear day, you can see FIVE states from the property. Yes, five! It’s absolutely breathtaking and made for the perfect backdrop to relax and soak in the Catskills air.
The vibe of the hotel is something special — a perfect blend of modern comfort and mid-century charm that instantly transported me back to the golden era of Catskill tourism. It’s stylish without being stuffy, and every corner feels thoughtfully designed.
The staff? Absolutely lovely. So friendly, helpful, and genuinely warm — they made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We even had the chance to meet the owner, and were blown away by their vision for the place. They’re working on turning The Perch into a year-round resort, complete with a spa and pool! And it’s just 6 minutes to Windham Mountain for skiing and only 30 minutes to Hunter Mountain, so the location couldn’t be better.
Honestly, this would be the perfect spot for a wedding, family celebration, or a private group getaway. I’m already dreaming about coming back — and next time, I’m...
