Bison Trace Luxury Camping — Hotel in Town of French Creek

My sister-in-law got married this past Saturday at Pine Junction Restaurant. She reserved lodging at Bison Trace for her guests and we had the entire campgrounds to ourselves. The celebrations started Friday night as guests arrived at the campground with a homemade pizza buffet at the Pavillion made by owners, Matt and Leigh. They had the outdoor pizza oven hot and ready to make up delicious pizza of all kinds - even dessert pizzas (apple and cherry pie)...yum!!!

There are no words to express how PERFECT this place was for all of our family and friends to celebrate this special weekend. All the cabins, tents and wagons exceeded everyone's expectations. They were very clean and had all the amenities needed. Very kid-friendly. The Pavilion has a fire place, heat lamps, fire pit, and cozy outdoor lounge chairs to relax. It even has a small stage where the DJ was able to set up his music on Friday night. Majority of the guests flew in from out of state and they were already talking about coming back to Bison Trace for a reunion!

There’s truly nothing like camping in the fall, especially when you find a place that perfectly captures everything you’re looking for to unwind with friends. Our road trip to Bison Luxury Campground was just that—absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, we felt the warm, welcoming atmosphere that lasted through our entire stay, right down to those last moments spent sipping coffee and tea. The grounds were spotless and cozy, but it was the thoughtful details that made the experience extraordinary. With a stunning pavilion featuring a beautiful fireplace, wood pellet stoves, a delightful onsite coffee shop, and even wood delivered right to our doorstep, we felt like everything had been taken care of. The cabinets were stocked with dinnerware, linens, and treats, along with tea and coffee to enjoy anytime. Matt and Lee are incredible hosts, making sure every guest feels right at home. Bison Luxury Campground is the perfect one-tank getaway for anyone—even those looking to host a wedding! If you head out there, be sure to say hi to Leigh and Matt, and don’t forget to give the kitties a little pet...

What a beautiful place to stay. The owners Leigh and Matt are very friendly & courteous. The accommodations are very nice and the area is so very peaceful. My wife and I stayed there 3 days over our 5th Anniversary, they had a card and a bottle of champagne there for us when we arrived. They stopped by shortly after we arrived to tell us where the firewood was and asked us if there was anything else we needed. They said if we thought of anything, to just text them, they were so very friendly. We were out for a walk and saw them, they said they were going to have a fire later at the pavilion and invited us down to join them. We got back from going out to eat and running some errands and went down to join them along with some other guest. We sat in front of the fireplace and shared stories and cocktails. Such friendly people, and I would highly recommend staying there, 2 thumbs-up...
