I am extremely disappointed with the way my guests and I were treated during our recent visit to Wildflower Farms. I have been here twice before and always enjoyed sitting on the Great Porch for drinks and lunch — relaxing on the couches and taking in the beautiful view. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different and shockingly unpleasant.||We arrived from the parking lot behind another family and were told by the receptionist that the porch is first come, first serve. Since it was full at that moment, we were advised to check in with the restaurant to see what they could offer. At the restaurant, two women politely explained that the restaurant menu was closed until dinner but they could offer us seating at the bar or lounge with the Great Porch menu — which sounded perfectly fine.||However, as I turned to confer with my group, a young woman wearing a bandana suddenly appeared and inserted herself in front of the two women we were speaking with. She asked if we were staying at the resort (we were not) and if we had a reservation (we did not). She then abruptly told us that they could not accommodate us because they were at capacity. This was completely baffling, as the lounge was empty and the bar had several open seats. When we pointed that out and said we would simply sit at the bar, she replied, “The bar is quite crowded,” which was simply untrue.|We walked out, only to see that a table on the porch had just opened up. Since the porch is first come, first serve, we sat down. Moments later, the same young woman came outside and told us, “You misunderstood me — we cannot accommodate you anywhere.” We were stunned. Two staff members had already told us we could sit, yet she seemed determined to prevent us from enjoying ourselves.|When we questioned her again, she offered a hollow apology. One of us asked, “Are you really sorry?” and her response was, “I don’t make enough to be sorry.” That statement was beyond unprofessional — it was insulting.|To make matters worse, as we walked back to the reception desk, another party immediately sat down at the exact same table without issue. The receptionist once again confirmed that the porch is indeed first come, first serve, making the entire situation even more frustrating.|For a property that has been named the #1 Resort in New York by Travel + Leisure (2025), this was a shockingly poor display of hospitality and communication. We were singled out and treated unfairly for no apparent reason, while others were welcomed without question.||This experience ruined our afternoon and left a lasting negative impression. I’ve enjoyed Wildflower Farms in the past and recommended it to friends, but after this treatment, I will not be returning — and I certainly won’t be recommending...
Read moreI was expecting so much more from my honeymoon stay at this new property. I'm fortunate enough to have experienced many 5 star properties through work travel and was surprised at how unhappy and unwelcoming the staff at the hotel was. I write this review based on past experiences with upscale properties and on the standards the property advertises and charges for.
Upon arrival, there was no one who greeted us or offered to help with luggage and despite a seemingly empty lobby/front desk, it took about 20 minutes to be greeted. The hotel had reached out prior to our arrival to offer to make reservations for the on-property restaurant and spa and they specifically noted that ubers were "readily available" while making some recommendations for restaurants in town. We were underwhelmed by dinner at Clay the first night. At almost $500 for 2 people, a mind-blowing experience is expected and instead we felt that most of our dishes were under-spiced and forgettable. The following day, we tried and failed to get an uber into town and were told by the front desk that ubers don't come out to the hotel and instead instructed to call a local cab company. When I called the recommended cab company, the operator yelled "every time we send someone to that hotel, no one is there so we won't go there anymore." Feeling trapped we settled for our only option, another overpriced dinner at Clay. My husband, is someone who drinks diet coke like water but the only soda option at Wildflower Farms are $8 artisan sodas. Twice when ordering soda, we were brought a wine list instead, every other time it took us multiple asks for them to finally bring the bottle.
We found out about a wine tasting happening on the property from the property's instagram after it has happened. The hotel doesn't do a good job of showing guests how to take advantage of activities happening on property and most of what I knew about the property, I learned from my own research.
When it came time to leave and we explained that we needed their help getting a car because of our trouble getting cabs over the week, I felt like my request was inconveniencing the staff and it took 3 different people to finally find a number for the car service they used.
The highlights of this hotel are - the bed, the massages at the spa, the cinnamon roll at breakfast, the milk bread, the steak, and the views.
They give you a beautiful looking shortbread cookie when you leave that immediately turns into a bag of crumbs when you try to eat it. That cookie is a pretty good metaphor for this hotel. It looks beautiful but there's something pretty essential missing to hold...
Read moreHi - I recently stayed overnight like many others who were inspired by TikTok and Instagram. Me and my friend wanted a getaway from the city and to explore this new hotel / property to treat ourselves with this nice trip. Before heading to the farm, it took several attempts to book with the itinerary team - they would take a couple of days of responding or wouldn’t be clear with the activities that the farm offered for the time we were staying there.
I had to come up with the itinerary along with my friend by researching ourselves. I asked the team for advice and suggestions but couldn’t provide this but when I arrived there was a clear list of activities for each day that’s available which I wished they sent over as a PDF.
Also another note - you need to talk to the spa team separately as the hotel doesn’t help with this. I emailed and call the spa team and they didn’t call me back. I had to keep trying to get a hold of the spa team regardless leaving messages for them to contact me. When arrival our spa treatments were not included on our printed itinerary which felt very disjointed. I did really appreciate when arriving the room was ready and didn’t have to wait for our check in time which was a great perk. The property and spa is really stunning along with food, you have to get the burger if you decide to go to the restaurant on site!! First day, we spent the day going to the spa, cocktail making class and then to the restaurant at night. I was a disappointed on the limited activities that they offer as that would be fun if they offered more plus there wasn’t a lot of guests hanging by the bar or fireplace which was shocking. Hopefully in the future this is something they look into. The next morning unfortunately our coffee machine was not working and we let the front desk know but they sent out a team to fix it and they still didn’t fix machine. Instead we got a condescending remarks on how to work a Nespresso machine. It was also disappointing that the hotel didn’t provide us free coffee but instead charged us $20 for 2 coffees. Checking out was difficult as I had to come back and hour later since the team didn’t know how to apply my AAA discount. Even after reviewing the bill, they still charged my credit card wrong and now will have to follow up on that. The staff was disappointing and expected more for a luxury hotel on that front and along with activities on site, especially if it’s located on an...
