Calderwood Lodge — Hotel in Town of Georgetown

Okay, So, it started with me looking for a spot locally to have my wedding. I thought Calderwood would be the perfect place! I saw after looking online there was a five night minimum, running for around $1,000 dollars per night. I figured it was worth a shot to contact the owner and ask a simple question.... Simply, to see if the five night minimum was "flexible", and I was very understanding if not. My goal was to book the Lodge for two nights over one year in advance.

The response I received was 'no thx'. I thought this response was rude, and very unprofessional. Which I let Kevin the owner know. He responded with more rude and unprofessional remarks. As you can see below, I posted the entire conversation.

As you can also see he gets these "low ball offers" all the time. But, how is it a low ball offer, if you pay the asked price per night?? I never requested for a price adjustment, I only asked if he would waive the five night minimum. I think Kevin needs to adjust his business model and professionalism in regards to responding to inquiries.

Highly not recommended.

Brandon11:34 AM Good Morning, I was wondering if the five night minimum is "flexible". I grew up in the area, actually graduated from Unity school, and I am looking for a wedding venue. But, five nights is out of the question for me. If there is nothing you can do I understand. Rules are rules. The date would actually be in June or July of next year.

We had an excellent experience at the Calderwood Lodge. The kitchen and bathrooms are beautiful, and the roughsawn carpentry is amazing. The kitchen has 2 oversized refrigerators with a top of the line range. The large deck overlooks the lake, and it is right off of the kitchen. This is the best place to start your morning with breakfast and coffee. Downstairs there are arcade games, pool table, multiple TVs, lounges, and a bar for entertaining. Upstairs, there is a large family room that looks out to the lake. In the family room there is a massage chair(yes a massage chair), large screen TV, and extremely comfortable couches. I sat in that massage chair for hours! There is room for over 20 people to sleep, so the price is well worth it. Outside there is a dock for your boat, or they have rentals available. Spent the weekend here with friends in May and it was perfect for us! There is plenty of comfortable sleeping space, lots of room to spread out throughout the house, and the kitchen is a great hangout spot for a whole group. The kitchen appliances are amazing and make cooking for a large group a breeze. I loved the deck overlooking the lake, and the cozy seating area just below it. They have a nice dock/swimming area on the lake, and we launched kayaks right from the shore. The lodge is great for outdoor activities, but also has plenty of indoor entertainment available if the weather isn't cooperating.
