We loved our stay for a week at the end of August. The cabin is rustic and cozy, perfect for the three of us. The pull out couch was very handy (Camp George). The propane lamps were fun to use for the ambiance in the evening. Bedrooms were just enough for a good night's rest after a day of kayaking or spending time in town. Full Bathroom with an outhouse for backup. Full kitchen as well for preparing a nice meal if it is cool or rainy out. There is an electric heater or wood burning stove for the crisp cool night's which we had a few. The dock is right outside to launch your canoe or kayak. A small grill to use to do some quick hamburgers and hotdogs. It is definitely in the woods and was quiet even with people in the next cabin, we hardly knew they were there. It's close to town for shops, restaurants, ice cream, coffee, etc. Marjorie the host was very nice and accomadated whatever our needs were. We are already planning our next trip and will be staying again next year. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at Cochran's Cabins. Marjorie was an incredibly friendly and flexible host. Her hospitality made everything easy from check-in to check-out. The cabin itself was tidy, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing escape. The property is quiet and serene, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. One of the highlights was having access to canoes and kayaks. They were such a fun way to enjoy the lake and take in the natural beauty. While the location is a bit off the beaten path, it’s still close enough to all the attractions in Lake Placid, which made day trips super convenient. We would absolutely recommend Cochran's Cabins and Marjorie to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with great amenities and a truly welcoming host.

My husband took me to Cochran Cabins for my first fall vacation in over 30 years. I recently retired as a teacher and loved my fall adventure at Cochran. This was a great place to stay as fall erupts throughout the Adirondacks. Thank you for a great experience in the cabin that was private and had everything we needed. We definitely would recommend Cochran Cabins to family and friends to stay for the Adirondack experience. Again thank you for a special place to start my retirement 💜😊

My friends and I were trying to find a nice little getaway for the memorial weekend when we came upon the Cochran's Cabins while searching the internet. We were drawn by the nice pictures and the beautiful sunset.|Getting reservations was really easy and we never had a hard time finding the place since the owner gave us very clear instructions about the place.||The cabin is rustic. It is totally not fancy which is what we like! (SHOUTOUT to those people complaining about how it looks old or whatever, you are renting a CABIN, not a 5-star Hotel room.)||The cabin is definitely homey! We stayed at camp adelle which I think has the best view of the sunset. They have hot and cold water and the kitchen is well stocked with pans and kitchen utensils.||There's no cellphone signal but they do have a wifi porch if ever you want to upload pictures or check your email.||The hosts were really nice and even suggested some activities that we can do and restaurants nearby. |We did the canoe and kayaking which is really fun! It is also cheap and the owners even taught us how to use it!|We also did barbecue and of course, made smores from the campfire!||We had a really nice and fun weekend! We will definitely come back and would highly recommend it to everyone!||To Marjorie, Cliff and Lainey, thank you so much for the hospitality and for the milk. (yeah, we run out of milk for coffee and you gave us some of yours) See you...

Nice surroundings. Friendly owner. 50 yard walk downhill over tree roots to the Cabin from parking spot might be difficult for some. But it is an excellent, private, quiet, rustic and untouched, outdoor environment. Beautiful view of water from cabin. You can hear the loons from the cabin and see wildlife right from the dock. Comfortable firm beds. Advertised as rustic which is accurate. But rustic doesn't mean rundown, which our cabin was. The furniture (couch and 2 chairs) was old, and one chair was plain grody, we didn't want to sit in it. Bathroom is smallest I've ever been in. If you're 6'2", 195 lbs., sitting on toilet is difficult, your knees touch opposite wall. Bathroom shelf was dirty. Kitchen was rundown. Not that it's dated, it doesn't need granite countertops nor new appliances. But it was not in good shape. A $500 investment in a Formica or wood countertop plus some nicer accoutrements and cleaner pots/pans would bring this up to par. Floor could use some updating. All lamps and curtains felt dirty. We noticed some other cabins in need of deck and dock repair. Upon arrival the place smelled really musty, but 1 hour of open windows took care of that. While unpacking we found mouse terds in kitchen plus cobwebs and spiders around the inside, but, "it's the woods". So, $250/night was a bit high but I'm sure the cost is for the...
