Firstly, let me start by saying that the staff were very kind and lovely to deal with.
Rooms were well appointed and clean.
Rooms were also a good size, and we appreciated the pull out couch.
We loved the size of the fridge and having a microwave in the room was wonderful.
Cool lemon water in the lobby entrance was always refreshing welcome.
Great proximity to Dreams Park.
Our issues:
An out of order ladies toilet across from the breakfast room was not serviced or cleaned even though it was brought to the attention of the front desk staff. The first toilet upon entering sat there dirty and unserviceable for at least 3 days. We have since checked out, but I would not be surprised if the problem still exists.
My family and I were utterly disappointed that the pool was not functioning/ available. It has not been in order for MONTHS, with no sign of it being available anytime soon. We have never seen a hotel with their pool out of service for this long. Not sure why Comfort Inn is not able to get their permits in order like every other hotel in the area with a pool.
Breakfast was good however, items were often not replenished unless brought to the attention of the staff person on duty. Sometimes we couldn’t find them, and would often see other guests come and leave because the hot food items were empty. For example, on our last day there my husband went for breakfast about an hour before it closed and returned with just a coffee stating there was no breakfast. I promptly went myself and kindly asked the staff person for some more hot items which they did bring out shortly after. My daughter had to ask for the milk to be refilled for her cereal on an almost daily basis.
There is no signage for the hotel near the driveway to turn it. We missed the exit several times especially at night because the only sign is located several meters AFTER the entrance.
There was brown water coming out of the taps, especially on the 1st floor. We heard several guests complaining about this as well. This is very unsettling as you can imagine.
The rooms should be cleaned on a daily basis unless a DND is in place. The current system that this hotel has of hanging a flimsy paper on your door if items are requested is subpar to other hotels in the area. Also, we were only given 1 of these sheets, so was only able to use it once. We ended up just stopping the staff in the hallway to ask for supplies or asking the front desk for towels, toilet paper etc. We did this for an entire week.
Because our room was not serviced daily, we didn’t know what to do with the garage that we accumulated. We saw some people leave their garbage bags in the hallways beside their doors, but sometimes this would make the hallways really smelly. We opted to take our garbage bags out ourselves and dispose them in the larger bins in front of the hotel.
Sadly, I do not see this place being in business much longer unless some serious changes are made here.
For the quality of stay here the rate should be much cheaper, then maybe one would not be shocked at these concerns. We paid $247.20 p/n for no pool, brown water and supplies on demand type of service. If our rate had been $120 p/n I would not have taken the time to leave these comments. But for what we paid, we expected much much more from the...
Read moreThis is an average property if you're visiting the Cooperstown area. We were here for a week in August as part of the tournaments at Dreams Park just down the road. ||Location: 5 stars. If you're here for your kid's baseball tournament at Cooperstown Dreams Park, then the proximity cannot be beat. The Comfort Inn is probably the closest hotel to the park - just a 2 minute drive, at most. This is convenient if you have rain delays for games, and you want to wait things out nearby. Additionally, you're only maybe a 10-15 minute drive from the town of Cooperstown, where you can visit the Hall of Fame, restaurants, shops, etc. There's also a grocery store just a 5 minute drive down the road towards the town of Cooperstown, as well as a Dunkin Donuts, Mcdonalds, and some other food options. The property's most significant quality is its location in proximity to the ballparks and the nearby town. ||Property Quality: 3 stars. The quality of the property is acceptable, but overall leaves a bit to be desired. The air conditioning works great though, which is great during the hot summer. The rooms feel tired and the walls are very, very thin for noise from other rooms. The bathroom shower is really poor. The shower water pressure is very weak, and probably the worst feature of the room. The beds are comfortable enough, and we were able to get a decent night's sleep. The overall vibe of the room was very old and dated, and really need an overhaul.||Breakfast was serviceable, but nothing spectacular. I appreciated that they provided a breakfast at all as part of your room charge. Each day they provided some hot items like scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, etc. They also had some baked goods like bagels and English muffins.||The service of the property is probably its next best attribute. The front desk manager, Keith, is extremely hospitable and accommodating. He'll work with you regarding your stay, especially if you need to cut your stay short for any reason. ||Overall, this is an average property. However, if I ever return to Cooperstown, I'll likely look to...
Read moreWe are very satisfied with the Comfort Inn and Suites Cooperstown and definitely recommend it. The hotel was clean and the staff were accommodating and very friendly. It’s not luxurious and modern but it’s in good working condition and our room was clean. FYI, the rooms have carpets still. Breakfast was good which is included with the room. We had scrambled eggs, seasoned breakfast potatoes, alternating days of ham, sausage links or sausage patties. There are also bread products that you can toast, as well as cereal, yogurt, fruit and oatmeal and the highlight for my son was make your own waffles. Also all kinds of breakfast beverages. There is a gym with weights and a cycling machine. Treadmill has been removed. Looks like it was broken. Hopefully it will be replaced soon. The pool also isn’t open for some reason. The location was prime for us being next door to Cooperstown Dreams Park which was our sole purpose to staying here. If you choose to stay, call ahead about the equipment if that’s what you need. One little thing that I gave special attention to was the flashy building light at night on the back of the building. I need complete darkness when I sleep, so I move the curtains around to block out that flashy light. I used my hair clips. 👍🏼 But we did have a very comfortable and safe stay which is why I gave it a 5. I wish it wasn’t so expensive during the summer for baseball season but what can you do. It was Cooperstown season....
