Hillside Haven Campground — Hotel in Town of Hector

As of July 4th, 2024, the campground isn't officially open, but they had a few spots available and the owners let us hook up for a few days.

It was pretty neat having the old Starlite dirt track within eye sight of our campsite. The location of the campground is great, especially if you are going to hit up any wineries and breweries nearby. It's right off the main route, but you don't hear any of the road traffic.

The owners are really nice and accommodating, even gave us a free bundle of firewood! This is a smaller campground (from what we're use to), as it only has roughly 12-18 sites, but we'll definitely be returning. I can't wait to see the progress they make...

This really nice little spot centrally located, close to all of the main attractions you will want to see in the southern finger lakes area. 20 mins from Watkins Glen, 25-30 mins from Ithaca, buttermilk falls, Robert H. Treman park. It’s a small park with about 10 spaces, full and partial hook ups available. I’d say every site is big rig friendly. Very quiet and relaxing. The location of this campground is perfect- nestled in a beautiful, quiet area between Seneca and Cayuga Lakes but close enough to enjoy everything the area has to offer. Dog friendly accommodations is a must for us and we were fortunate to book the farmhouse Airbnb for the weekend. Clean, comfortable and relaxing. An overall enjoyable experience.
