The Aspinwall Motel — Hotel in Town of Henderson

As always, we had a terrific experience this week while staying at the Aspinwall Motel. Barb and Gary Bowman are terrific people who really go above and beyond to make each guest feel like part of the family. The rooms are perfect for a very comfortable stay. Everything is neat, clean and comfortable.||Just an example of Brab and Gary's kindness and generosity: My friend and I were having problems with our outboard motor when we first arrived. While trying to work through the problems with the motor (on a rather chilly, windy and somewhat wet mid-May day Barb was kind enough to prepare some really delicious chicken noodle soup and sandwiches for my friend and I to have for lunch while we were working (not fishing, unfortunately). A very kind and sincere gesture from an extremely gracious host. Really touched us both. Gary also was very helpful and kind while offering us some tools and guidance along the way. We recently stayed for 2 nights during a lacrosse tournament. What a GREAT find!! The minute you walk into the office you feel welcome. Super cute and cozy motel that is CLEAN! Barb was really friendly and helped with directions and gave us great dinner recommendations. We stayed in a 2 double bed room(that was all that was left when we booked) although the beds were smaller than we were used to--the room was perfect. Even our teenager commented how clean it was. Barb was so kind and allowed us to leave our kayaks in the yard while we explored the area.Close to 2 public boat launches both just minutes away. Will definitely stay again. We highly recommend...

We had a family reunion in early June where several families stayed here. Highly recommended! The rooms are spotless, cleaner than most big chain hotels I’ve stayed in. The couple who owns the property are lovely, along with the caretakers. A lot of history in the old house where the caretakers live. We had a lot of people arriving at odd hours, the staff was very accommodating. The Cherry Tree in was fantastic for breakfast, and so close. We won’t stay anywhere else next time we are in town. These old vintage motels are hard to find anymore, I’m glad this one has dedicated owners...
