We can not say enough accolades on the beauty of the grounds and the accommodations are amazing. The restaurant design is beautiful as well. It is an unexpected "Paradise" in Sullivan County.
We stayed twice. One room the first time, three rooms the second, for Thanksgiving.
Issue: The partners who "run" The Bradstan. You have one who is accommodating and personable who was very prevalent the first visit. On the most recent visit however it was the other partner, Mr. Samuelson when I brought 11 of my family members for the holidays, he was the extreme opposite. So uncomfortable that three of my younger grandkids asked during breakfast "why is he so mean, did we do something wrong?".
I noticed that on each and every occasion that the partner as mentioned, was around, the demeanor and mood of the guests around him changed.
My take is the "investor's" would want to create an atmosphere where you want to return. Where your recommendations are an important part of doing successful business. Not only for the accommodations but as a venue for celebrations in this beautiful venue as well.
Small time thinking and actions might have worked at the previous Bradstan Country Hotel but The Bradstan is not smalltime anymore and should rise to the level of the patrons it expects and needs to be long lived and successful.
The Bradstan is new, so growing pains are to be expected. The assistant manager Irvin does a great job considering his tutelage. The desk staff during both stays were always helpful if not completely knowledgeable. I have no problem with that.
My problem is that we found a place we wanted to call home away from home but how can you return to a place that so outwardly, through its "manager" shows a total disregard for its patrons.
Great place, nice people but do you return to, refer friends, consider use of the venue when the manager shows such a lack of hospitality or any type of appreciation for...
Read moreWell, the suites are spacious and beautiful, and the setting is very serene and tranquil, certainly conducive for relaxing, but overall the service really doesn’t have the polish and isn’t as proactive as it should be for the price point. No one escorted us to our suite and that would’ve been helpful to explain the complex lighting system, and how the refrigerator worked – something we misunderstood and as a result had food that was spoiled because the refrigerator was not cold enough. It was also my husband’s birthday and again considering the price point a nice welcome treat would’ve been appreciated. The hotel is beautiful and the service and food in the restaurant were very good – but we’d like to see a few more things on the brunch menu. The desserts at the dinner were the big miss – mediocre at best. More importantly, you guys really need a spa or some sort of wellness classes or evening activities to make it a fuller experience comparable to Woodloch Lodge or Canyon Ranch. The gym is fine, there’s one of each basic piece of equipment, but there were no cold towels or cold bottles of water, which is a big miss. The grade of toiletries is a bit subpar again just based on the price of the rooms, there were no tissues in the room, but we loved the heated towel rack. The only thing you really need to tweak beyond that in these suites is the fact that the blackout shades do not fully blackout the light, even though the automatic lowering and raising buttons are fun. And I doubt you can do anything about this – but you do hear the occasional car and trucks going by as we’re still fairly close to the road, and you might want to look into soundproofing walls around the estate. We relaxed, we loved T the pool, but to get a full five star rating I think you’ve got to tweak a few things. Really love the homemade cookies in the lobby ...

I truly don’t know where to begin…||||The grounds are pristine and spectacular — with beautiful walking paths that lead to a gorgeous lake where we paddle boated every day. Walking around the lake is equally breathtaking, with chairs thoughtfully placed along the route to take in the sunrise or sunset. Every detail feels intentional and beautiful.||||The rooms are on another level. We stayed in a lodge room with two queens — it felt like home, but elevated. A beautiful balcony view, a bathroom with heated towels — every detail was thought of. The pool and jacuzzi were wonderfully relaxing and perfectly maintained.||||The food? Also another level. Whether at the bar, restaurant, ordering lunch, or enjoying the beautiful breakfast spread — everything was fresh, delicious, and left you wanting seconds.||||But the heart of The Bradstan/Eldred Preserve is the people — and this is the reason we keep coming back. Irvin and Marque at the front desk are simply the BEST. Warren makes sure everything is working perfectly and always greets you with kindness. Louis, a young man who spends his summers working here, is a true gentleman. We can’t forget Scott and Eddie — who make all the magic happen and make you feel like family. And then there’s Steve, who may or may not work at The Eldred, but is always a fixture at breakfast — making my sister and me laugh and smile every morning.||||Scott and Eddie— my sister and I can’t wait to make more memories here, and to bring our families and children to experience this special place.||||So, long story short… The Eldred Preserve is a 15 out of 10 in every...
