My family and I stayed at High Point Village for a week this summer, and it was among the most amazing places I've ever been. Our cabin, Loon Lodge, is located just off of a small lake, and is completely surrounded by lush green forest. The quiet and peace we experienced is a humbling, soul cleansing experience. The owners, Kathy and Lyle, could not be more gracious and friendly, and they run a restaurant called Hill of Beans at the lodge. Delicious food, great views. I should tell you there's no wi-fi on the property, and the cell service is pretty poor. But - these are big positives in my book. The cabin itself is comfortable and cozy, the boys slept up in the loft in twin beds; on the other side of the loft is a little reading nook. We had our own bedroom, and the main living area has large windows overlooking the lake. Washer & dryer in the cabin, and we made breakfast & sometimes lunch in the cabin with supplies purchased at a Wal Mart about a 25 minute drive away. Terrific, easy hiking close by, and is close to a number of larger lakes that have water activities. Other thing is that it's very buggy, so bring or procure lots of mosquito repellent. Can't wait...

We were able to rent the 3 individual cabins for 2-3 people each, plus the large Snowshoe Lodge with woodburning fireplace, lots of sleeping space, and full kitchen for our large group gatherings at night. Loved having the convenience of on-site Hill of Beans restaurant for Friday Fish Fry dinner as a group, but ability for folks to grab breakfast on their own over the weekend as well. Each cabin has its own kitchen so easy to stay put for a few days with that convenience. Looking forward to our next group gathering! Be patient at the restaurant.... Many local restaurants are short staffed this time of year and everyone does their best to bring quality food and service. Hill of Beans has always been worth the wait for us for their generous portions and delicious paninis, breakfasts and (best of all) walleye fish fry dinner with Kathy's homemade German potato salad! Thank you for another...
Read moreWe stayed here for a few days over the summer and found it relaxing. Except for a few animals in the woods it is completely silent at night there. The cabin we stayed in fit four without any issues. This is an authentic "cabin in the Northwoods" experience. This is not a negative comment but a warning not to expect regular hotel amenities. There's no A/C or cable TV and the showers are tiny. The owners are incredibly nice and helpful, it feels like you're staying at place run by your grandparents really. The restaurant serves some amazing (huge) breakfasts so even if you're not staying there it's worth visiting. I definitely recommend Highpoint Village if you're looking to get away from everything...
