We stayed at the 100 campground in the middle of the week early May. Good news first- very large campsites with plenty of trees and shrubs for added privacy. I’m sure when all the leaves are in you won’t see your neighbors. The walking paths a wide and mostly shaded with beautiful scenery. I highly recommend the blue trail from the 300 campground to the falls. The falls are much more impressive than I anticipated and worth the walk. The park is pet friendly, and our dogs enjoyed the ~1.5 mi walk to the falls too! The Facts- It’s a little pricey to camp, your required to have a WI state park sticker ($38) plus camping fee of $33 a night for just electricity (20/30/50 amps)! If you want to just visit the park for the day it’s $10 in state, and $13 for out of state. Summary- We enjoyed our stay, but the price seems a bit high which is why only 4 stars. I recommend staying, just know what...
Read moreI'm giving two stars for overall value. We stayed for a night on our way back home, and were there for 13 or 14 hours, and it cost us $60, including the out-of-state parking fee. Perhaps the expense was because the only site I could reserve had power hookups, which we didn't need. The nearest bathrooms were just average cleanliness for state park campgrounds. The site itself was fairly private, surrounded by trees and shrubs, but the nearest two sites had dogs that growled or barked whenever we even moved. Water was available two sites over, but the water pressure was very low so it took a long time to fill a jug or container. We hiked the trails around to the falls, which is quite spectacular. As usual there were many sites in the 100 loop that sat empty all nite, reserved, unused, and unavailable to travelers looking for a place to camp....
Read moreNice park with fishing, nature trail, nature center, and beautiful waterfall and dam. We camped in the 100 loop, which had the nicer showers but had a little bit of early morning traffic on the hwy which woke us up. Second night was a weekend, so thinking traffic was just commuters it was no problem that night (though we ran a fan that night to stifle any sound). The waterfall area was the big hit. It was a big incline down and back up. Wear good shoes, but bring water shoes. The big disappointment, was the amount of trash. It is a shame, and not the park's fault, but a trash can at the bottom of the falls would make a world of difference in keeping the place clean-carry in, carry out only works if it is enforced. And if you can't enforce, provide a trashcan. I would stay here again if...
