I have a real mixed review of my stay, but it's the owner/management that really sinks this property. ||This is a motel conversion site with about 13 rooms. I booked a 3 day weekend stay for the end of May/beginning of June. Booking was fairly easy although I had to wait a little while for confirmation to confirm that a room would be available (there were about 7 available to choose from when I was booking the day before). ||I emailed if I could check in early at about 1pm instead of 4pm and was told there would be a $50 upcharge to do so. ||I had room #1. The room is a renovated from a former strip motel. The renovation is fine, the bed is very comfortable and there is a large TV, mini fridge and an option for a plug in fireplace. ||The GOOD: ||1. The bed is very comfortable. |2. The room was clean and check in was easy as it is a keypad combo lock on the door. |3. There is both A/C and a fireplace heater available. |4. Soap and shampoo is provided. ||The BAD: ||1. The coffee maker is a a strange, insert-the-tray-with-filter contraption that you cannot source anywhere if you would like additional cups of coffee. For three nights, I was left with two trays which made two cups of coffee. I did ask for more coffee trays and was told that it wouldn't be possible as there was no housekeeping. So I went out and bought instant coffee from Tops. When I returned for the evening, I found a bag with three coffee trays hanging off the door with no communication that they were there. Frustrating. Just put more coffee in the room to accommodate for longer stays if you don't have staff readily available. The same with the toilet paper. There were two rolls provided for a three night stay. ||2. You can hear everything from the room next store. I mean everything. I heard whole conversations from room #2. When the renovation was done, there is no insulation placed between the rooms. I had to turn up the TV to drown it out. Luckily, they were not partiers or it would have been miserable. ||3. There is no onsite staff to help with any arising issues. If you run out of coffee or toilet paper or have a safety issue there is no one there immediately. There is no daily housekeeping. ||4. There is no desk in the room to do work on. There is a soft side chair in the closet but not surface to work on. I had to work sitting on the bed. There is space to put a small table and chair by the window so it is odd there is not one provided. ||The UGLY:||1. My room was invaded by ants. I had both small ants and carpenter ants swarm the room. They were all over my bed and the floor. I started by squashing them but then there were too many. They were all over my stuff, my bed, etc. so I packed up and left a night early. I emailed the Rusian, the owner/management the next day asking for a refund for that night. They asked for photos or videos which I did not take as I was focused on shaking out the ants from my stuff and getting the hell out of there, not documenting everything. You would think the dead ants in the room would be enough evidence, but, I guess not. They refused the refund since I did not take photos or videos. This property needs to be sprayed for ants for the spring/summer season. Obviously, it has not been. ||2. The owner/management nickels and dimes. I detest this...
Read moreSave yourself the hassle, I would give zero stars if I could. This place is a security nightmare.
I'll start at the beginning... after confirming check in time around 3am we could not get in... the door was deadbolted. And thank goodness it was. There were other guests in the room. The concerning part is that the code we were given for the door unlocked it which leads me to believe that the code is not changed between guests (terrifying if you ask me). We tried contacting them but they had put the chat on silent and there is about a 30 minute window where the phones have a person responding to them. It was dang near impossible to get ahold of anyone for basic needs. We get checked in finally and around 5pm someone comes and knocks on the door saying they need to fix the shower. The shower was not broken at all.
Second on to what they said is available. Yes there is a kitchen, but the coffee filters (says coffee tea cream and sugar are provided) are not the correct filter for the coffee maker (cone filter for flat bottom machine), there is no cream or sugar and just a communal bin of coffee grounds (again huge security and safety issue). There are also no coffee mugs. There are no additional blankets or towels and hopefully you can catch the staff for the 30 minutes they are on site if you need these.
Third, there was a huge storm that came in (over six inches) and as the guest I was the one shoveling the snow to clear a path, no salt or plowing... Also woke up the first night to rodents chewing on the wood in one of the beam. The outside of the lodge is not occlusive and I don't even want to know what is making homes in the exposed walls. We had the heat set to 80 degrees to be warm at night so clearly the insulation is not adequate for New York winters. I have a feeling the majority of the positive reviews are from friends and family that wrote them to get this place up and running.
If you value safety, privacy, security or even comfort please pay the little extra for other...
Read moreIffy at best. When we got there, there was no hot water. Someone else called the owner and a few hours later the propane truck showed up, so that tells you a lot. We also had no washcloths and could not figure out how to get the a/c working. There was a wooden box around it that took forever to figure out how to get off. Once we got to it, half the buttons on the thing didn’t work and the remote was missing. Again, we made it work, but not great. Mostly it just sucked that there was no one on site to help. We checked the office multiple times and there was never anyone there. Location is good though.. so I’m...
