The cabins are cozy. Older and I think they're slowly starting to modernize them. We stayed in a 2 bedroom and the fridge/freezer is pretty small so be mindful of what you bring up to store in them. Not sure what they look like in the bigger cabins. The boat docks are a little run down and could use updating. There is a playground for the kids to play on. The reason for the low rating, which I feel is a pretty big deal, is the communication. The owner is deaf and lives off-site so the only way to get a hold of them is through text. I will say she was very responsive for most of our stay, but when it came towards the end of our week and I asked for copy of the bill and information on renting for the same week next year/what other cabins besides this 2 bedroom she may have available since we may be interested in something bigger, she said she would let me know/get back to us but we never heard from her again. Multiple texts sent and nothing back. This left us scrambling to try and find another place on the flowage that had availability for that same week which is tough considering most families re-rent at the same place year after year and openings are hard to come by. I can't explain the no response but it left a very bad taste in our mouth for this resort.

Great location on the chippewa flowage. It's tucked away in a bay that is packed with fishing fun. Has a beach for children to swim, has multiple docks for use as well as aluminum boats to rent. There is also a fish house for guests. Cabins are rustic but spacious. Has a community firepit close to the water.

Great place very peaceful. Owners were very attentive with anything we needed with our large group that was up there for the dirt dash had plenty of room to accommodate all of us and vehicles and trailers would definitely stay again.

Well, it's the original lake camp deal. The lodge is not a lodge. It's the owners living room and office. Messy and not really usable to guests. The beer bar is not really usable either. Though, I guess you could order a beer, stand around and drink it while you wonder about the "lodge". On a better note and it gets much better.., the cabins rent for good prices and are dog friendly, proviso you have friendly dogs. The grounds are clean, the grass is mowed and green. The woods look wonderful and the air smells great.

Its still a family affair with the founders wife somewhere in the old house attached to the lodge. The new owner/manager is a granddaughter to the elderly wife, grandmother and great grandmother to the new co-owners. Their lovely, smart young teen daughter also lives and helps there.

The co-owner is a very nice young hard working woman but mostly deaf. She must be facing you to speak with her. She grew up at the lodge. Her significant other is a nice man that seems to do most of the home improvement work.

The cabins had fallen into terrible disrepair after granddad aged beyond doing repairs and the new couple were spending a lot of time updating them to a nicer shade of old. All weren't yet finished.

They had occupied the one we rented after first repairing It. It was clean and functional with a 1960 lake cabin appearance and feel. Nothing special or fancy. Just the basics needed for a active fishing retreat. Our cabin did have a TV, VCR and large video collection in the living room that was handy during a few long rains.

They are located on the water and have a huge grassy area with individual picnic tables and a common area fire pit between The lake and cabins.

The lodge has plenty of fishing boats available for all guests. At least one per cabin. They are clean smaller V-bottom boats with very good small 4 stroke outboards that put the boat on plane. No onboard electronics or lights though. You need electronics on that big body of water. The fish don't hold in obvious places there and they have plentiful natural baitfood and great cover. A day or even half day of guided fishing will teach/show you much. They have 2 pontoon boats available to rent as well. One of the original owners sons takes care of the boats. They all looked clean and water tight. Not beaten up at all. The fishing boats rent for $50 per day. A real bargain compared to buying one. Just take some depth and fish locator equipment that you can temp install on their boat. Use a pair of strong magnets to mount your transducer.

There's a bait and tackle shop close to the lodge and the nearby town has just about everything. There is also a pretty nice casino close to town, not far from Musky Joe's.

Several elements were disappointing but others were good and charming. It was on the whole a good trip and good place to stay. We would try them again after they've settled in and finished...

If you're looking for everything brand new and a 5 star hotel, this is not the resort for you. It is an older resort and the cabins are rustic and have the old-time charm. The owners are currently updating all of the appliances and updating the cabins as well. We stayed for three nights and were allowed to bring my Dalmatian, which is a plus. The grounds are clean and organized.

The cabins are comfortable and were clean. Linens and beds were clean. The furniture in ours didn't match, typical of older cabins. Kitchen utensils were 50/50, some things missing that we needed. Not a deal breaker. Didn't see any nasty bugs or cob webs in our cabin. Relatively kept clean and organized upon arrival.

The shore is shallow though and the resort's bay itself is shallow so those with expensive fiberglass boats may want to use the public ramp to get their boats in as the ramp on the campground is a little sketchy. Because the water is shallow, your boat is most likely gonna dig into the muck along the shore and trim engine up. There was a floating Bog stuck in the center of the bay too.

Some kids were trying to fish along the shore but there are weeds/lillipads and were getting caught up in them but did manage to get a few tiny bluegill. The bay is very shallow and not really a fishing spot. You gotta get out of the resort's bay to get to the fishable waters (Musky Bay). Had a muskie hit my lure just outside of the bay so the big fish are there and don't have to go very far. We caught a few pike on our trip too.

The bay is secluded so you don't get the traffic from the main lake. Very little winds too when a storm blew through. We had a positive experience while visiting and the cabins are rustic old charm. All of our appliances were in working good condition as some have been updated too. bathroom is small but clean. Showers are typical plastic standing booth with good pressure and VERY hot water. Wifi was poor. The location is nice and secluded too. There were fire pits and free wood by our cabin, which we didn't use.

Probably not the best place for children. There are other resorts that are better equipped. I would say this is more of a resort for those who want piece and quiet and just want to fish, the older folks. The owners were very attentive to our needs and questions. They were very friendly and answered any questions we may of had. Would we go back...
