I never write reviews because I believe everyone can have a bad day and everyone’s experience is different. But I am having a hard time even putting this experience into words. We have been going to Rustic Barn for years. It’s is a very nice small campground. The previous owners were wonderful! Unfortunately, new owners took over recently. We were busy during this stay so we were not at the campground much. One night while we were sitting by the campfire, the owner brought us some wood we ordered. He threw it on the ground and said the speed limit here is 5mph. Like I said, we’ve been coming for years, love it, and have ALWAYS respected the rules of the campground. My husband said, was I speeding? The owner became even more ignorant threw his hands up and yelled the speed limit is 5mph. Period! And walked off. We were appalled. Couldn’t believe how he could talk to a guest like this who hasn’t even done anything wrong. The next morning as we checked out, my husband decided to talk with them about this. This time a different owner was working and she became just as rude with my husband. My jaw just dropped. This disappoints me! We love it there but I will not support a business where the customer is treated so poorly for...

Our site was full hookup but far from post and shared with neighbor. Had so use 2 of everything to reach. Sites are pretty close to each other. We were the closest site to the restrooms, showers and laundry. The restrooms were very clean with hot water and great pressure. The washers were $1.50 and the dryers $1.00. They both worked great and only had to dry clothes once. The had outdoor yard games and a camp store. The staff were friendly. The internet was good. The water pressure to the sites was terrible. (Which is why the 4-star rating.) We questioned several campers, so it wasn’t just us. This is a beautiful park and close to Dubuque. Right on the border of Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois. We kept crossing borders in our excursions. The “Field of Dreams” movie site is close and free. They do ask for a donation. Suggested at $20 a car, which was worth it to us. Also nearby was the Fenelon Elevator $4 round trip for adults. There is also a riverwalk in in Dubuque which was free to do with museums, aquarium, river boats and hands on activities. It was VERY nice to be able to do all that at no cost. We would definitely...

It is a great place as others have said. Beautiful grounds and views. But the road noise is bad - even though the freeway seems far enough away. Now for the sites. Make sure you do the back-ins if you want a larger space. The pull throughs are very very tight. I would not recommend them. They really are two RVs in the space of one. The spaces share a power post and water. The sewer connection is odd, way to deep in the ground. Anyway, we enjoyed the area but did not like our site. BTW, do not count on any satellite service (even if they say it might be satellite friendly). In the pull through sites you might get service and then a Class A shows up and (because the sites are so close together) it is gone. The back-ins have lots of trees. Only 2 machines in the laundry. Clean but older bath rooms. Great WiFi.

Great campground! Super clean & well maintained. New owners are amazing & attentive. Not too many kids (we love kids & travel all summer with them, but our Labor Day trip is always 2 couples & motorcycles, so honestly, it's nice to find a quieter campground geared more toward adults on a holiday weekend). Pull thru sites are not our cup of tea as they are really close to each other, but to each is their own. We stayed at back in site #37 in a 44 foot toyhauler. Backing in was not too terrible & we were able to drop our ramp and load & unload our motorcycles after the rig was setup. We were able to park our rig (44 feet), motorcycles & dually truck on the site. Picture is a view from our site.

Beautiful scenic views, wonderful hosts, incredibly clean and well-kept facilities, lots of amenities for the kids, etc. Small and quiet. They will even take your trash out for you if you put it out early in the morning. Also, there are three rocks hidden around the campground that, when found, you bring to the store on site and you’ll get a treat. My kids looked every day and found two of them. Great way to keep them occupied. Big open fields for kids to run around and play. Was sad to leave. We traveled there in June/July in our 44ft toy hauler, so big rig friendly.
