Ye Olde Manor House Bed & Breakfast — Hotel in Town of La Grange

My husband and I planned an impromptu getaway from Chicago for a long weekend. We were happy to discover this amazing retreat and sanctuary. Great beds and rooms, clean, and well-appointed, with lots and lots and lots of fresh sunlight- absolutely everywhere! This well kept and preserved inn has a charming decor with lots and lots of quiet retreat areas including social meet-ups and a heated indoor pool too-wow! The just like home environment and enormous grounds were transformed into a cottage-like setting with lots of outdoor relaxation. Innkeepers, John and Karen are naturalists at making you feel right at home. They love to cook and share interesting stories about the area's history and things to do. I especially love the innkeepers temperament and balance. They allowed us our own social space to enjoy each other as husband/wife and know exactly when we wanted to engage. They both have great sense of humors. They are kind people. Overall YOM was the perfect retreat, not in the middle of Lake Geneva's chaos but just right- (only 15 minutes away). This getaway was not a room for the night- but a relaxing and interesting experience! Kudos to the owners- well done and well kept too. Exceeded our expectations big time. My sisters and I stayed at this lovely inn while attending a wedding nearby. It looked great online when I booked it and it was even better in person. We loved the house, the pool, the beds, the grounds and the breakfasts! Everything was just beautiful with AMAZING attention to detail. Every corner showed us something wonderful. We loved the house-bottled water for the room. The water pressure in the shower was divine. The bedlinens felt rich. We had a guest innkeeper as the owners were out of town but Rachel took great care of us and clearly knew the house well. She was able to steer us in the right direction to get local cheese and sausage at, surprisingly, a local gas station but it was totally the spot! I am not sure our travels will bring us back to this area but if we do we will ABSOLUTELY stay here again. I'd highly recommend it to anyone searching for a great getaway in that area. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and at home. There were 11 of us, close friends celebrating our 50th high school reunion. It was a perfect weekend. Accommodations were comfortable and well appointed. Our hosts made recommendations to restaurants and area activities and even made reservations for us. There was also plenty of room to just hang out enjoy each other's company play games and laugh and reminisce. Even though everybody didn't get in the pool we had a pool party where we really laughed and had a good time. The grounds were peaceful and beautiful many of us took walks to check out the fruit trees and the organic garden and there was a bubbling brook.
