Unfortunately, the majority of my/our experience at the Crossroads Motel are very poor. It is a family owned property & one of the reasons why I chose to stay there. Within hours of checking in, the power went out at 900P & with the temperature 90°+ no A/C made it unbearable. Multiple calls were made but no one answered or returned our calls. I had 2 queen beds so my buddy stayed in my room. At checkout I brought it to the owners attention & he immediately got defensive, never apologized & then became aggressive. In addition, the daytime light showed how filthy & unkept the entire property was. The convenient location off the exit from a main highway is great & the rooms have potential to be comfy but, they need a lot of work. The slum Lord owner needs to seriously reevaluate the customer service industry he has chosen for him & his family. The values & ideals of the Midwest people are very important & he needs to realize, that these things are really important & things are done differently here, especially in this region of the country.
Reply to owner: I appreciate your quick response & can also appreciate how you closely you monitor your reviews & feedback. Unfortunately for you, I feel it speaks volumes that I donāt have the time to explain if you donāt see it. Iām not about to get into a texting debate over this issue. However, I will part with the fact that my friend never spoke to you during our conversation so itās impossible for him to have said that. Lastly, Iām sad for you & feel horrible that you feel I am a racist. I never said, inferred or eluded to anything of the sot & itās disgusting that you wanna play the race card here & avoid the topic of the operations & condition of your property. As you also said in our conversation, you have both video & audio recording on at all times. So, the video will confirm you aggressively walked out the front door, after I left, came towards me & my vehicle, pointing your finger, yelling & clearly showing your inability to remain calm & professional & show how I conducted myself. The audio will prove what was actually said & not said & your recollection of all isnāt accurate. I ask that God bless you, your family & wish you the best for your motel & property & please take all of this as constructive advice, rather...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt is hard to find where to start. My family and another family both arrived to be told our stay was not paid. She asked both of us for ID which we provided and she photocopied. I said she had not asked my OK to copy my ID and she replied she did not care, By the way I have the photo copy of my ID on the back of a crossroads motel bill to prove my point. She then told us neither of us had paid and how did we want to pay? We both responded that we had paid and both provided our paid receipts on our phones. She then got agitated and told us we had to cancel our expedia reservations and re-book with her. we both refused and asked that our expedia reservations and payments be honored. She then got on the phone and had a 10 minute conversation in another language. At this point I was frustrated and asked her to return my illegally photocopied ID to me so i could find other lodging (as did the other family) and she started talking very loudly to me in another language, I 3 times demanded my photocopied id back (as did the other family), I admit i was likely not as polite as I had been at this point. She finally provided them to us and we left. Within 10 minutes of us leaving both families credit cards (which were only provided to expedia, not the hotel) were charged for the room. AFTER THEY KNEW THEY HAD MESSED UP THEY CHARGED OUR CREDIT CARDS ANYWAYS, A SECOND TIME ,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy fiancĆ© and I stayed here with family for the weekend. We enjoyed our stay. The place is a cute little roadside motel that mustāve been built around the 1960ās. There has been some updating in regards to painting, furniture, rug and appliances but the cute 60ās vibe remains with the old tiling/ blue tub in the bathroom. Thereās even an old retro āmaid serviceā switch on the motel room doors which Iāve never seen before (but I loved that it is still there after all those years). This is the kinda of small town motel Sam and Dean would stay at in Supernatural š. Customer service was good. My mom had trouble with getting her TV to work and they immediately came and fixed it for her. When we arrived, they were repainting and doing some maintenance on the exterior of the motel (which obviously shows that they care about the business). If your looking for something 5 star with a chandelier ceiling and crepes for breakfast this might not be the place for you lol. But if youāre looking for somewhere to stay a night that is affordable and friendly that isnāt owned by a corporate chain, then this place is perfect! BONUS: Thereās a cute little diner across the street (Noraās Cafe), a bar and grill on the corner and an awesome Wisconsin Super Club 15min up the road...
