The best way to describe this campground, I would say, it's not filled with the usual drunken riff raff that we've been encountering more and more at campgrounds over the past few years. However, it's not the drunken riff raff that was noisy. It was the close proximity to I87N that caused all the noise. Sit around the campfire and bask in the glow of embers while hearing vars whisk by in the shallow distance going 70 MPHs. While retiring for the evening, all asleep to 18-wheelers air brakes activating. Amd in the morning, see if the chirping birds can filter out the noise of the morning traffic. As for the camp site, it was leveled and clear of debris. Finding it was a challenge with roads not clearly marked, which made it feel like you were I'm a maze. The bathrooms in the upper portion of the campground were always attended to and clean, but the bathrooms by the rec center and pool were a different story altogether. 😳 The store is sparsely stocked, so you're better off going to Warrensburg up the road if you need anything. The pool is heated, which is a plus, but the rec center games are a bit outdated and worn down. Limited staffing that retires by 5 pm, so you're pretty much on your own until morning. So, their strict 'Guest Only' policy I can ascertain if it's enforced at night or not (place was sparsely populated when we arrived, but started to fill in towards the weekend). All and all, an average campground that is priced for what it has to offer. If you can overlook the noise of I87, the lack of amenities, limited staffing, and not clearly marked roads for the quietness away from the tourist campgrounds filled with the drunken weekend warriors, then this is the place.

The park is very close to the highway so there is much noise from that. The lots however are decent size and spread out. The whole place is hilly so not great for walking or riding bikes for kids. We became seasonal campers with a huge price increase. There were a lot of promises. They were not kept. They were supposed to be done by the beginning of season. We are in the weekend before July 4th and there are still huge construction vehicles still moving about and being loud all day long. Not relaxing. Our spot was partially prepared and we constantly have to complain. We even came to put the camper in a month late. They promise to fix things and are not after several attempts. They are severely understaffed and can't keep people. The mosquitoes are terrible here as well. It is constantly damp. Do not camp without a screened area. The pool is heated and kept cleanish but there is constant clumps of hair and band aids in and around the pool. The customers also litter around the pool and leave food on the ground. Very gross 🤢. The bathrooms need a major update. Also older kids are left to their own devices in groups (not supposed to be) and are obnoxiously loud and rude. The kids playground is sad at best. The promised updates there of a new volleyball, pickleball, tennis, and basketball are non existent. In my opinion $5k for a rv spot is not worth the money here especially for kids. We are not renewing. Very disappointed in this camp ground. They also charge $4 to read your meter, so on a $8 bill it makes it $12. That's crazy expensive.

This was our first time at this campground. We chose this campground because we were attending the Spyder Quest event and also the annual car show, so the location to town was convenient, not far. We were not happy that during our 3 night stay, we noticed pine pitch dripping on everything, our new Spyder, our camper and our truck. It was so bad that when we got everything home, we spent hours trying to take it off, and still could not get it all off. Also, friends of ours were staying the same weekend, they got there an hour early and they had to pay $20.00 extra to get to their site because they were one hour early…..and it was a tent site, so it wasn’t like they had to get anything “ready”. They asked if they could look for a different spot because their site was very uneven, but were told it was full. The site right across from us was empty the entire weekend so they could have set up there easily. Also, the campground charges extra for WiFi when any place we’ve ever stayed it’s included in the price. While we understand it’s not the campgrounds fault for the pine pitch, but wanted others to be aware when thinking about choosing this campground. I would not recommend this campground to anyone and we will not be staying here again.

I recently booked a campground at Lake George Camping Village, filled with anticipation and excitement for a memorable outdoor getaway. Unfortunately, our stay at this campground quickly turned into a nightmare, leaving us incredibly disappointed and frustrated. I feel compelled to share my experience to warn others about the subpar conditions and misleading marketing tactics employed by this establishment.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted by inclement weather, which we had expected and were prepared to handle. However, the initial letdown came when we reached our assigned campsite. To our dismay, our campsite was located right next to a disruptive land clearing project of some sort, which immediately shattered any hope of a tranquil camping experience. Logs and boulders obstructed the area where we were supposed to park our car, further adding to the inconvenience.

The size of our campsite was shockingly small, measuring a mere 15 feet across. This limited space made it impossible to accommodate even the most basic stuff, such as a tent, a table, a tiny fire pit, and our car. The entire site was cluttered, rocky, and covered in stick and debris. I think the land clearing nearby had greatly also greatly reduced the usable space of site 167.

The lack of privacy at Lake George Camping Village was unexpected. The campsites in this area were crammed together, leaving no room for seclusion or tranquility. Had another family arrived at the site beside us, we would have been uncomfortably close, with barely ten feet separating our tents. The absence of any sort of barrier or buffer between the sites only exacerbated this issue, making us feel like we were intruding on each other's personal space.

What infuriated us the most was the stark contrast between the campground's actual conditions and the way it had been advertised. The promotional materials and descriptions had painted a picture of idyllic camping retreats with spacious sites and a serene atmosphere. Sadly, this was far from the truth. The deceptive marketing only added insult to injury, intensifying our frustration and sense of being misled.

Regrettably, our experience at Lake George Camping Village was so abysmal that we made the difficult decision to leave immediately and seek alternative accommodation in a local hotel. It is disheartening to think that our vacation began on such a sour note and that we were compelled to abandon our original plans due to the campground's poor conditions.

I cannot stress enough how disappointed and angered we were by the state of Lake George Camping Village. The small, cluttered campsites devoid of privacy, coupled with the intrusive construction project nearby, rendered our stay unbearable. The misleading advertising further exacerbated our disappointment. I strongly advise against choosing this campground if you seek a peaceful, enjoyable camping experience.

I hope they consider increasing the size and privacy of their sites. They should also not offer sites to people if they have active construction projects nearby. It’s not fair to fellow campers to put them up a few yards away from this and not disclose it beforehand. It’s also unsafe, as the recent rains combined with loosened soil is a hazard to neighboring sites that...

Sorry to say this year I was not happy with our stay at the campground. The new owners have some rules that was surprised people. Every year for the Last 5 Years we meet friends of mine from out of state and we book our sites ahead of time. Last year we booked our sites and paid our down payments and expected to have the same balance when we came to stay. We agreed upon their fee for a cabin this year. I made the down payment and then this year the day before we were to come up I called to check my balance and to confirm our arrival. My balance due for the week was $751, this was expected. However when we arrive at the following day we had rented a six person cabin. We had two children and a grandmother with us we were told our six person cabin was now going to cost me $886 as a balance because their rates went up during the year and they said that we would have to pay for the extra people, they said on their website they have the right to change their rates even though we already had a deal agreed on. They did not honor their contract rates that we had contracted with them. We have been camping there for 5 years never had that problem before. The children had been looking forward to this day so now this camping trip cost me over $1,000 because I was not going to disappoint children. So just be warned they can change their rates as they wish and they do. Please recall that I called them the day before to check my balance and they told me it was my original balance was and then when they got there with children and Tow they jacked up my price. Do I sound upset wouldn't you be , just want to warn you. Also they had no firewood to sell also the restrooms up by the cabin did not have soap in the men's room for well over 3 days they told us that they ordered it two weeks ago I don't know why they couldn't have gone to a Dollar General and picked up a couple Dollar Bottles of soap. Shower floors were disgusting although I have to say the restrooms were kept clean the woman did a nice job who was taking care of them. There are other issues but I just not going to go into them now. We have been going there for the last 5 years I've been happy with it never complained. What they did do for me was when I complained about their changing the rate on me overnight they refunded me $39 I guess they thought that was good enough. I am sorry to say we'll be camping elsewhere from now on they do have a nice facility I just don't like the way it's being run. I am disappointed cuz we really do like the Lake George area and have enjoyed it for many years. By the way the other family that camps with us also will not be coming back there they witnessed our bad experience. I am terribly sorry to have to write this review I don't like...

We took our first trip out this year in our RV to test it out and make sure all was good. We booked Lake George Camping Village, (not even close to the village) I wanted to mention that when we did book our site online, our credit card got hacked, and we had multiple $$$$ scam charges on it the day after we booked. I called the campground to tell them what had happened and talked with Mary and she told me it’s out of their hands, they don’t handle the bookings an outside company does. She did tell me she was going to call the booking agent and find out what happened, but they were closed. After we got there around 12:30 found out there’s a $20 early check in fee before 2:00 ( just to mention there’s also there’s a late check out fee after 11:00) ….go figure. This review is really about a woman named Mary, who I believe is a manager and to put it mildly, she was not very nice at all, her attitude, how she talked to us was not very customer friendly. First of all we had our dog, but they only allow selective breeds in the campground, so if you bring your dog, they have to go out and inspect the dog to approve its ok to be let in the campground. (you probably should bring a DNA test) if it’s a mix. (Breeds are listed in there rules) The kicker is, if they don’t allow your dog in, you don’t get a refund or take your dog and home, if you’re close enough. By the way…our pup met there breed requirements after she was inspected by a very nice gentleman. To top it off…. we forgot our pups rabies certificate, (ooops our fault) Mary said…we don’t allow dogs in without one …(that’s fair), so we called our vet to send us a copy (they were closed for lunch) but we could go to our site but Mary wants the certificate within an hour or else.

If you do go camping here you’ll find out they have more rules and regulations and paperwork that you’ll have to sign you life away (bring a lawyer) in order to be able to camp there. I’m sure this campground is owned by an investment firm, most are now. The campground is not bad, they’re doing a lots of work to the lots and roads. Showers need some updating and bathrooms aren’t to bad. Myself I’d never go again only because of the way we were treated. I’d stay south closer to the Village, King Phillips Campground, Whippoorwill Motel & Campsites are great, we’ve stayed in both. To end this when I got home I got an email from Mary telling me I forgot to pay the $20 early fee and to drop it off, forgot all about it but...
