Give this place a second chance, you won’t regret it!
This is my second visit to Huttopia. Our family first came in late Spring of 2021, when Huttopia first opened, and the grounds were still under construction with no pool yet. Though, it was a let down at the time to see the camps condition and that the full amenities were not available, our family still made the most of the grounds and our accommodations.
Now one year later, July of 2022, we found it to be magical. Our family had a great time and we were really impressed with the grounds, amenities and the concept of Huttopia.
Our family overpacked the first time, and below I am providing a full rundown of what to expect:
Here’s what to expect: Sign and entrance to Huttopia comes up quick off of route 9N and it is visible only from 30ft or so from a bend in the road, so keep an eye out for their green Huttopia sign. As you turn in, follow the signs to reception/check in. This building is about 2 tenths of mile up the hill. The road is a bit rutty in some areas so take it slow. We drove up in a car and it was fine.
Check-in and reception takes place at their “Life Center” hall. This is also where you can access the pool and kiddie pool (open until 8PM), as well as some of the activities they provide. Table tennis, foosball, corn hole are some of the to-dos sprinkled around the center. Take advantage of their workshops, activities and events for added fun. There is an on-site cafe open for breakfast beginning at 7:30AM, with items such as crepes, pastries, specialty coffees, smoothies and more. The cafe also serves savory items and farm to table fresh made pizzas to order, that are super delicious. A country store in the corner of the Life Center, has Huttopia branded items from shirts, hoodies and other gear, as well as essential items in case you forget something.
After check-in, you’ll be directed to your hut and the closest parking lot to get you there. There will be wagons in the parking lots to help lug your things to your hut. The paths can be long and steep in some areas, and are groomed with wood chips.
Your hut will be loaded with just about everything you will need. Beds are made with fresh crisp linens and a light down comforter. A single pillow is provided for twin beds and double beds have two. Comfortable seating and dining tables will be provided inside and out. There are several portable camping chairs located to either the right or left of your hut’s entrance. Your hut will have electricity and portable lanterns to use.
If your hut (a Trappeur) has a bathroom you will have toilet paper, bath towels, bath mat, hand wash, body wash, and shampoo (no conditioner) plus HOT WATER! The Trappeur units also have working kitchen sinks (if you are not in a Trappeur, your unit will have a basin and no running water/plumbing and you will have to source water from the nearby water spigots, as well as use the shared bathrooms that are a short walk away - that is really the only difference). You will have a fully stocked kitchen in your hut (minus your food). Plates of different sizes, bowls, strainers, food storage containers, pots/pans, of different sizes, coffee cups, cheese grater, silverware, steak knives and cooking utensils galore. A mini fridge will be provided for you as well. Plus many items to help you clean, such as dish soap, sponges, and broom/dust pan.
Your hut will also have a real wood burning stove and all of the accoutrements that come with making a fire, like matches and tools. Wood is extra at $10 a small bag (it will have 5-6 pieces of chopped firewood).
Your hut will have a nice sized deck to hang out to enjoy nature and for entertaining. A grill is provided, along with grilling tools. Some decks have patio furniture for lounging.
There are tons of paths to explore, nature abounds and as an added bonus in July tons of raspberry plants with in season berries to snack on! Family and pet friendly.
At the end of your stay, just clean your hut, group your linens for the maids, and remove your trash on...

Our family recently spent 10 days at Huttopia Adirondacks, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. As someone who’s spent considerable time living in military tents, I can confidently say that these tents felt like the Ritz Carlton in comparison.
Huttopia has truly put together a fantastic setup. The infrastructure – plumbing, electrical, and sewer systems – is solid and well-designed, providing a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Sure, there are minor things that could be improved, but our overall experience was overwhelmingly positive.
The staff at Huttopia deserves special mention. Josie is incredibly friendly and professional, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Cailey, the park ambassador, oversees the reservations, restaurant, and maintenance teams with remarkable skill. She’s been with Huttopia Adirondacks since it opened four years ago and her dedication is evident. Cailey is approachable, considerate, and always receptive to feedback. Her daily rounds to check on the facilities and camp sites highlight her genuine care for the camp and its guests.
The maintenance crew is diligent and responsive. After a heavy rain one evening, they promptly regraded the pathways to ensure the safety of all guests. The meal management team did a wonderful job as well, ensuring that everything was up to standard and that Cailey could be proud of their efforts.
The facilities at Huttopia are impressive. The community center is spacious and inviting, perfect for relaxing with a drink or a bite to eat. While the gift shop is small, it offers a variety of useful items to enhance your stay. The heated pool was a big hit with everyone, though do remember to bring your own towels.
There are plenty of board games, books, and coloring materials to keep everyone entertained. Parking is abundant, level, and easily accessible, making our comings and goings hassle-free.
We stayed in the Trappeur tent, which comfortably accommodates 4-5 people. The tent is well-equipped with utensils, pots, pans, glasses, coffee mugs, a kettle, and a cutting board. It also features a mini fridge, two sinks, a toilet, and a shower. The beds are incredibly comfortable, complete with sheets, pillows, and warm comforters to keep us cozy at night. The wood stove was a delightful addition, perfect for cooler nights and providing a cozy ambiance.
The park itself is meticulously maintained, clean, and safe. The pathways are well-lit at night, making navigation easy and safe.
Our experience at Huttopia Adirondacks was truly memorable, and we highly recommend it to any family looking for a unique and enjoyable camping experience. If you’re seeking a quiet, peaceful, and tranquil escape, you should highly consider this location. We’ve added photos and videos to help you get a better picture of our stay. We can’t...
Read moreWonderful experience for us, our 2 kids, and our dog! Visited for Labor Day weekend and it was not crowded, which was a nice surprise. Would recommend to anyone looking to experience camping without the hassle and with a few more creature comforts - we opted for a tent with a toilet, shower, and woodstove as this was a first experience for us. Close to Lake George (10 min drive), which has a fantastic dog beach (people can also join the dogs there, it's clean), little amusement parks/mini golf, and fun shops. Hannaford, Walmart, and a really nice drive-through car wash are 20 min away, so we were able to stock up on supplies to cook on the campfire (got the wood bundle, kids had a blast gathering tinder/kindling in the woods, straightforward instructions provided), plus the inevitable stuff we forgot. The site is secluded enough to really feel like camping and not just a roadside campground with cars passing by. The lodge provides crepes, pizzas, coffee, beer and wine etc (note pizzas are available evenings only). Cell service is spotty and the wifi at the lodge was pretty slow - not sure you could watch netflix for example, but honestly this was a welcome break from the 24 hr news cycle. There's a very small camp store which would only give you a few things you may have missed. But again, you can drive a short ways to get all you need. Our kids very much enjoyed the heated pool (perfect temp) and adjacent playground, plus cornhole, giant jenga, and foosball. We didn't have time to join candle making or yoga, but they also provide a kids activity booklet with nature crafts which we will try on our own. Very fun. Tent sites were just far enough from one another that you feel you have private space. We typically go to Lake Placid several times a year, and love it there but this will be a new favorite spot as we have not even scratched the surface of all there is to do. Prices are fair for what you get. Thank you, Huttopia, for meeting and exceeding our expectations. Such a great concept, and very...
