We stayed on a Monday and Tuesday night in early September—after the local schools had started but before the chill of autumn crept in. With the exception of a friendly maintenance worker, we had the entire motel, beach, and amenities to ourselves. The room was refreshingly clean, and the absence of carpet made it feel even more hygienic. A broom was thoughtfully provided, which came in handy for sweeping up dried mud from our hiking boots.| |Our hikes up Hadley Mountain and Spruce Mountain were unforgettable. The view from the Hadley fire tower was absolutely majestic, offering sweeping vistas of the Great Sacandaga Lake and surrounding peaks2. Spruce Mountain’s trail winds through old-growth forest and leads to a historic fire tower—though currently closed for safety, the summit still delivers stunning views of the southern Adirondacks and even into Vermont.| |Back at the motel, we enjoyed a host of complimentary extras: kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, a paddleboat, life vests, board games, and even campfire supplies for the beach pit. The room was equipped with a small fridge, microwave, and single-serve coffee machine—just right for our needs. Climate control was easy with both a heater and air conditioner available.| |For dinner, The Vested Veteran nearby served up delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere. We were less impressed with The Log Jam in Queensbury, but Cooper’s Cave in Glens Falls more than made up for it with great food and service.| |Just around the corner from the motel, we discovered a charming little park with a gazebo and bridge—perfect for a quiet stroll. Don’t miss the letterboxing...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for a holiday weekend getaway and chose it for its great location and the easy access to Lake George. The property has a lot to offer—fire pits, grills, paddle boats, rafting, and more—which made for a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Pamela and Karina at the front desk were especially helpful and kind throughout our stay. However, there were some serious issues that need to be addressed. Upon arrival, we found the pillowcases were dirty, including a very concerning stain( if you know what I mean) When I brought this to the staff’s attention, they responded quickly and replaced them right away, which I appreciated. That said, we also dealt with a persistent non-working sink for the entire stay. When we brought it up, we were told they were already aware of the issue. If this was known before we checked in, it should have been fixed beforehand—or at the very least, we should have been informed. Given that we paid double the regular rate due to the holiday weekend, it was disappointing not to have basic room functionality and cleanliness from the start. This place has potential, and the staff were polite and responsive, but management needs to take better care to ensure rooms meet basic standards, especially when charging...
Read moreFirst I will say the rooms are clean. Which is why I didn't complain as overall I want to be in a clean room. Also not a bad location to stores, restaurants, mini golf, ice cream and just a 10 minute ride into Lake George which is beautiful!
The showers are small, like a standing coffin. The property leaves a lot to be desired. The stairs to the rooms are like a death trap, missing railings. My niece fell and hurt her ankle. I warned an elderly guest staying to be very careful. The pool itself was nice tho part of the liner was coming off by the stairs. The property around the pool was dirty and overgrown with weeds. Weeds coming up by chairs your supposed to sit in. Chairs were dirty. Tons of bugs!! The filter had dead frogs in it. We literally had to clean bugs out of the pool each time we were in it.
We had to ask for toilet paper/towels as there wasn't daily cleanings and garbage I was told to leave outside the door or take it to the dumpster on the property?!!!
When I asked where the ice machine was, I was told the one for the poolside property was on back order and had to walk to the Lakeview side to get ice which wasn't far but not easy to get on the fly.
For the price they charge, I would expect a...
