Honestly… we were nervous. This was our first trip of 5+ hours and first time out of state with our travel trailer, with our 3- and 5-year old children. We read the rules and the other reviews. Contrary to what we thought going in, this was not a campground for librarians. No, this was a beautiful, friendly, perfectly maintained and updated facility perfectly situated between Sister Bay and Ellison Bay. Don’t get me wrong, it was quiet, but not dead silent. People were having fun. Kids were playing. It was just a very respectful noise level, which I think everyone involved appreciated. This campground appears to have recently expanded, so if you’re looking for some of the densest, shadiest old growth trees, choose a site closer to the south/west. If you want expansive, easy to access sites and don’t mind the lack of shade, go with the north end. All of the sites appeared well maintained; all hookups were in working order and very little leveling was required on what seemed like relatively fresh gravel. Grass cover was great in the newer sites and even though they offered trash collection, the dumpsters were in a very convenient location for you to walk to if needed. The owners/caretakers appear to live nearby or on location; they maintained a presence throughout the day. There is no secured entrance gate, but to be honest, I don’t think they need it. Door County is safe enough to begin with. I also want to call out the fact that they participate in Sensible Weather, which I had never heard of, but it became a key selling point for us. To drive 5+ hours with young kids and have the weather spoil the trip would’ve been awful. Thankfully, it didn’t come into play, but it was what made us choose this campground over some others in the area. All in all, we stayed 5 days with a 17-foot trailer on site A-14, and we loved it. We will be back. Do not hesitate to book here if you’re looking for a clean, quiet location near Sister Bay.

A terrific RV park…mostly because of the immense rooooom between the coaches out in the new, open area. The forest sites looked attractive (they also had nice roomy spots) but the unshaded area was so peaceful, spacious and you have a much better look at the night stars. Easy check-in, envelopes with our information and site were in it. Cash or check only. We booked months in advance by sending in a deposit check. Easy to navigate the park. WiFi worked off and on. Never used the facilities. No pool. Great fire pit area that were not that close to our unit and the will deliver the wood or you can pick it up at the office. Trash pickup at your site…nice.Sewer and water all worked fine. Did not use any cable. Back-in site to a row of oak trees which gave great afternoon shade. Nice. The stone gravel was terrific…no muddy shoes to bring into the coach. Spent a week and would like to have stayed longer if we did not have future planned spots ahead on our calendar. We’d like to come back in the fall to see the colors. Highly recommended. The cherry crisp at the cherry store across the street is fantastic! We kayaked in Europe Lake and up the Mink RIver from Rowley's Bay. The north area is much quieter and peaceful than the south. Try Charlie's Smokehouse...great smoked Salmon.

While we were still driving up, the office called to check in on us and give us directions (also texted us pictures for clarification) because the office was closing. They asked if we needed fire wood, so they had it delivered and charged to my card by time we got there, which saved us another stop. They had dog waste bins and bags throughout the camp. They collected garbage bags from your campsite each morning. That bathrooms were never too busy, but I also went at slower times of the day. The women’s bathroom has 2 bathroom stalls, 2 shower stalls, and 2 sinks with counter space. The shower stall has a caddy, 2 hooks, and a chair. The bathrooms were kept clean, but are a little dated. The sites were closer than I imagined and ours was not as grassy as I’d hoped, but some were. We had plenty of natural light, while also being shaded by the tree canopy. I did wake up to some road noise from the main road in the mornings, as well as what I assume was the farm behind our campsite harvesting at 5:30am. Other than that, everyone at the campsite was quiet and respectful of others.

Hy-Land Court RV Park is the greatest RV Park, not just in Door County… but I think anywhere I’ve ever stayed.

Let me premise by saying, I’ve been coming here for the last 3-5 years (I’ve lost track). Every time I’ve been here, I’ve loved it. Just off Hwy 42, and nestled nicely away from the hustle and bustle of some of the busier towns, the location is a stones throw from pretty much everything. Spaces are constantly well-kept, included trash pickup, beautiful tree-sites and open-air sites for every camper’s style, and a beautiful new office to check in, grab wood, ice, or things to do.

Above all else though, are the people who work here. The week I am up here for pumpkin fest, Cindy and Butch went WAY out of their way to accommodate me from… we’ll call it an undesirable situation. They could have told me tough luck but they worked hard to help find me a different spot than the one I had reserved. A spot that would fit more my “atmosphere”.

Every time I come up here and chat with Cameron, he is engaged, interested and genuinely wants to talk to guests. I honestly cannot say more incredible things about this place and could probably go on forever. Stay here! That’s all ic a say, you will not...
