My husband and I booked cedar cabin for a couple days. We liked that we could bring our 2 large dogs and we were able to fit their crates in the living area (although it did make it rather cramped, but that was fine with us). The fenced in yard was nice for them to run around and the hot tub was great to relax in. They also had dog bowls and toys. There was a window ac unit in the living area, which kept the space cool. We also enjoyed the wine decor throughout and the space was very clean!
The kitchen has everything you need for a stay and there were plenty of towels to go around. The water does have a sulphur smell, which is mentioned in the bathroom. There is a filter for water in the fridge to drink, which was good. The bedroom was small and the bed was fine, the only thing being some of the pillows were a little too flat. We had no issues with the tv/Netflix or internet.
The trail around the property was nice to walk the dogs, ours certainly enjoyed it. The breakfast was delivered around 8:30am both mornings and was pretty good.
Cedar cabin is located right near the office and we rarely saw anyone at the office, but we were gone most of the day. We did occasionally hear people in the other cabins when outside and could see their campfire when on the deck, so it's not completely remote from each other. However when not on the deck with the fence it was completely private. It's very quiet and relaxing out there, however we did hear a very vocal rooster when we were out.
Check in and out was very simple, with information in a book in the cabin (along with food suggestions, if needed). If you're looking for an out of the way cabin where you can bring your dogs and travel the finger lakes/Ithaca, I...
Read moreStayed at Cedar Cabin October 21 through 27, 2018. All the other comments are correct. Comfortable cabin in the woods. Fairly remote, good breakfasts delivered to your door, cabin well kept. Was concerned about damage after flooding in Lodi on August 14, 2018. Was assured all ok and found this to be true. HOWEVER, upon arrival found a sign in bathroom. "Our well water has sulfur in it, perfectly safe but doesn't smell great." UNDERSTATEMENT of the year! The water was putrid. To say sulfer smells like rotten eggs just doesn't seem fair to eggs. The odor of this water was nauseating. Couldn't brush our teeth with it, made me itch like crazy. Used bottled water (that I bought)for everything! There is a washer and dryer in cabin, not for guest use but they wash linens and towels there??. All the locals we spoke to said it should have been treated. This was not a good experience. Sara, sorry but the condition of the water should be disclosed in the rental site. Could not wait to get back home for a normal shower! Will NOT do that again. $1,100.00 for the week? There should be drinkable water...
Read moreStayed in Aspen for 9 nights. It was great. The cabin was adorable, fully stocked, well kept, and clean. Heating and cooling both worked well across the entire space. Didn't try the hot tub, so can't comment on that. Breakfast everyday was hot and delicious, they even had great vegan and vegetarian breakfasts. Central location is also nice, we easily ventured around both Seneca and Cayuga lakes.
Only a few things that weren't to my personal preference. The top down style shower head had zero pressure, very tough to wash long hair. The cow skin rug was creepy, my dogs were far too interested in it and wouldn't leave it alone, so we had to move it to the spare bedroom and shut the door. And, while the savory breakfasts were really delicious, I wished there were more of them; I don't like to eat sweet pancakes and French toast that often (they accounted for more than half of the breakfasts).
EDIT: Came back 1.5 years later for 10 nights in Cedar cabin. Another great vacation! Really enjoyed the fenced yard for our dogs and all the amenities in Cedar, including the washer/dryer, big TV, and...
