Delightful surprise! We were on a "random road trp" with no planned destinations; hence, no reservations unless made about a half+hour or so ahead. I've never stayed at a bed and breakfast because I was sure I would feel uncomfortable being in someone's home, and that it would not offer privacy. However, we were just passing thru, and did not want to stay at an extremely expensive hotel. So we decided to take the leap, and were fortunate to get the last available room. From the moment Tanya greeted us at our car as we were pulling out just what we would need for an overnight stay and putting it bags hobo style, my dread was melting away. She had me feeling as if I was getting reacquainted with an old friend who found our "luggage ☺️" quite normal, as well as meeting a very bright woman with business savvy.
We arrived quite late, and spoke quietly so as not to disturb other guests. We told her we would not be down for breakfast because we planned to sleep in. She offered to bring it up when we let her know we were awake, convincing us it would be her pleasure to do so! There is much more I could say about the unique lovely room decor, cleanliness, etc., but I'm going to go on about the bed! Absolutely heaven! Comfortable bed and pillows made especially inviting with high quality luxurious bedding. We were there to sleep, and what a treat to have landed there. We did not hear a sound as other guests had breakfast and departed.
The breakfast she brought to us was amazing! She told us she would be bringing some healthy items, but who would have known! Everything was incredibly delicious and not your regular fare. When thanking and complimenting her, I commented surely she was a trained chef.... and it turns out she did take fine cooking lessons before she even knew she would one day own and operate a bed & breakfast. It showed in the unique and high quality offerings that were delicious!!
If we are ever in that area again, we would definitely stay there at Meadowood Inn. Others have commented on Tanya as a wonderful host from her well-thought out setup, kindness, relaxed yet professional demeanor, etc., so I will end with a highest recommendation, even for the shy-at-heart who have yet to...
Read moreIt was our first time staying at Meadowood Inn and we have so many positive things to say about this place. First off, having spoken to Tanya (owner/host), I could tell there is a genuineness in her and thought she was very thoughtful and very detailed when describing the Victorian style home and the various rooms. We ended up staying at the Burroughs suite which came with a king size plush bed with no duvet throw covers draped on top. So definitely a very contemporary bed feel. The accompanying room had a twin-size style bed along with another bed (kinda like a day bed). It has access to a personal bathroom. The wi-fi throughout the home was very strong and zero complaints there. That is a key feature when staying at any B&B and the heat in the room and throughout the house is cozy and warm. Another big plus especially staying during wintery days. Tanya is very masterful in making amazing breakfasts and we are glad she followed dietary restrictions/food preferences to the tee. My wife has wheat allergy and everything Tanya prepared for her was done with careful consideration. There is also 24/7 access to hot coffee, tea, hot and cold water, and we have zero issues parking on the premise at all times. We do frequent coming up to Belleayre (about 15 minutes drive away) for skiing on a yearly basis, and will definitely come back and stay at her other rooms. Highly...
Read moreIt would be difficult for me to give this inn less than 5 stars. I booked on a whim because my husband and I wanted a quick getaway. I was pleasantly surprised to get a call from Tanya the day of our arrival to go over a few details: approximately what time we'd arrive, any food allergies/aversions, and to see if we were traveling with pets or service animals. Already I couldn't wait to get there. When we arrived we called from the common area phone which was super cool to use a now-vintage touch tone phone. She showed us our room and around the dining/common area. The breakfast was incredibly delicious - croissant french toast, farm fresh eggs and bacon with orange juice and coffee (or tea). I wish we could have stayed longer. I felt like the most welcomed guest. Our room was the Meadow Room. By the way, the bed was super comfy. Someone mentioned in a review that the decor wasn't great. Okay, yeah it's not the most stylish or cohesive decor I've ever seen but there are things I simply care much more about. And I have to say I LOVED the giant turquoise pillows on the daybed in our room. While in the area we visited Union Grove Distillery down the street, the Peekamoose for dinner, played nine holes of disc golf at Belleayre and finished off our mini getaway at...
