Went to rent a site for a weekend, toured the place beforehand and found out there will be no pools for a month just as summer is getting warm! Associate I was dealing with didn't even want to mention the lack of pools and no discounts offered for the lack of attraction, it's half the camping to go swimming. I'll be going back to quiet woods.

Very small sites, not maintained well either. There was an old used toilet sitting on the outside of the bathroom building looking really trashy. Thought this would be a good camping option but definitely not worth the money, time or drive for any kind of get-away. Pictures of this Campground are VERY MISLEADING!!! Proceed with caution

A campground with nostalgic flair that has a family friendly price and appeal. This campground will remind you of the ones you went to as a kid but, better. The overall park is very well maintained and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. This is an older Jellystone campground that doesn't boast the waterslides of more modern ones but, there are 3 pools that are kept in great condition; a kiddie pool that is 1 ft deep, an activity pool that is 3-5 ft deep, and a deep pool that is 3.5-9 ft deep. In other words, great for all ages and experience levels.

The campsites range from wooded to in open field. They are mostly level and come with rock fire rings that really give the classic campfire experience. Although electric is available throughout and most have water, there is a very limited amount of ones with full hookups. However, they do offer an extremely affordable pump out service and when you weigh it against the overall nightly cost of the sites versus some other campgrounds its a real bargain. One word of caution, if you camp with anything over 24 feet, you are going to have some tight maneuvering on some of the wooded spots. Also, pay attention to the weather, some of the middle spots in the campground can get flooded out. If you are planning to group camp the have lots of sites that join up in the wooded parts but, the field spots towards the back offer lots of room for setting up everything just the way your group would want it.

The campground has a well kept game room attached to a small gift shop and pantry in the Ranger Station. The bath houses are going through remodeling but, the ones that have already are very nice. They have wifi which is great because cell signal is not the best (verizon) but, you will have to log back into it periodically.

When it comes to location, there is a public beach nearby that is very nice and makes for awesome sunset pictures of Green Bay. Idlewild Golfcourse, and Patowatomi State Park are 5 minutes away. It's about a 7-10 minute drive to Sturgeon Bay which has all the comforts home you might have forgot to pack. Overall it's a great jump off point for any day excursions into Door County.

As with most campgrounds, the weekends are the busiest and the pools can feel very busy because of it. However, the crazy weekends can add to the fun for the kids with making new friends and memories to go with them. If you can go during the week, you will have no issues but, it is much more laid back and doesn't have as many activities going on.

Overall, this campground has a retro mellow vibe to it. Things are simple but, well done. It's all the good things of camp and a perfect spot to make some...

Just wanted to share our experience at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park - Sturgeon Bay/Door County, Wisconsin. We stayed here over the 4th of July for a week. We had never been there before, in fact it was our first trip to Door County. Despite being a bit run down and overpriced we had a nice site and a decent week...until the 4th that is. On the 4th of July someone decided to set fireworks off in the park. Our family, my husband, 2 kids and I were seated around our fire minding our own business. We did not know anyone else at the campground and since I am immunocompromised we didnt make an effort to get to know anyone. At some point management caught whomever was setting off fireworks and they stopped for the evening. The next day we were approached at our site my management and they accused us of setting off the fireworks. About half way through their accusation the man stopped and suddenly realized that it wasn't us whom he caught the night before because he didnt recognize us. We assured them that we didn't have any fireworks and didnt know who it was. They apologized and went on their way. We enjoyed the rest of our stay. At check out we were again confronted by management and advised that we would not be welcomed back to the park because of the fireworks. After trying to explain again that we didnt have anything to do with the fireworks she said they had a "witness" who said someone at camp site 60 hide fireworks under our camper. Again, we didnt know anyone so why in the world would we let a random person hide thier fireworks under our camper? We argued with her for about 20 minutes before she half heartedly conceded and said "ok, it must not have been you" but by then we had been accused not once, but twice. We let them know that we would not be back. I dont know who set off the fireworks and I dont know whom this witness was. My guess is that this witness just spit out a campsite number, or maybe it was someone near us and they just got the camp number wrong. Either way whoever the guilty party is got away with it and we ended up taking the fall. I wish I would have asked her to bring me to the witness...i wonder what their story would have been then? I could have said "I saw the person in site 23 shoot off fireworks...would they take my word like they took thiers? In the end, we wont camp there again and we certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I hope karma catches up to the people who set the fireworks off and then threw us...

It's the first "Jellystone" out of all of them. Hasn't changed a bit since I went there with my dad as a kid, that's several decades ago. They have a diverse number of sites to accommodate large R.V.'s and also tent sites depending on availability of course. I like it, but I'd say probably ask questions as to what it is and what it is not to find out if it's what you're looking for. I'm not a "glam-per, but I'm also not a "roughing it" kind of camper, depends on the person probably on what you think of it, we think it's a 5 star. I never "outgrow" the place. I'm not sure why I had it only rated as a 4 star before, so I've updated the rating. I sort of hear varied things from people about it, if your looking for an experience close to a hotel which I guess some people might kind of think that, it's not that, but you might be able to make it that if you have a complete system on your own like a really deluxe camper, and if your looking to show the kids roughing it, not that either, probably why I had it listed as 4 initially because people vary so much on what people want out of "camping". Every time I've been there the pool is really clean. If you're looking for a lot of activity stuff for the kids to do I'd say go on the weekend, if you're looking for a slower pace kick back and read a book and just go on quiet walks or something slower paced, I'd say best chance for that is midweek sometime. I'd like to get up there more than I do, summer gets busy. For me it's sort of like "living in the past" which is kind of cool, they even still play older Yogi shows close to dusk, I think they always did that there, but just on certain nights. If you are planning on working from there like "half vacation" think through your "internet plan" if relying on what is offered there. Also, if you don't want a lot of activity around you, think of the site location. Someone was kind of saying some things about those things last time I was there, but also had been making hotel comparisons - again...
