This site was hyped WAY more than what we got from it. For full hookups, there is only one loop (Loop F) for them and they do not support larger trailers/5th wheels. The sites on this loop have a max length of 40' back-in, but when we drove them, there is absolutely no way that there were more than 2 spots that would have accommodated this and it wouldn't have been an easy fit unless you're very experienced with backing in a camper/5th wheel. The sites were extremely close together as well, with no mature trees, and not real parking for cars. Also, we noticed a trend of cars taking up extra spots and many cars for one site spilling over into others sites.

We stayed in H10 and he sites were much more spacious. There were no mature trees around the campsite at all, but plenty of room for our kids to roam and play. The sites are electric only with water pump stations around. Luckily, we were situated in a spot that we could run hose to the spigot for water. We would suggest having an extra 100-150' of hose if you're planning to stay here. There is a cute park right on this loop for the kids to play at.

The dump stations had very low water pressure making it difficult to flush the black tank. Additionally, they only had 3 spots for dump which meant there is a wait and it kind of sucked in the rain.

We did see a lot of wildlife which was fun for the kids (and man). It was fairly quiet even though our loop was completely full. The scenery is beautiful. The river is gorgeous and fishing was fun. It was harder to find a spot to fish from - you cannot fish from the piers which is very inconvenient with little kids to navigate wet rocks and risk a fall. They have a few very nice boating docks to launch from.

The store has very minimal supplies - be ready to make sure you don't need anything, or you'll have to pay the toll to get across the bridge to get to the grocery store. There are no grocery stores on the island. There is no gas stations on the island currently and there is one being remodelled. Hopefully, it'll be ready next year.

It was a nice stay, but it was not as epic as we had hoped to be (and it had been hyped to be). It really isn't our go to...

It's a nice campground with many scenic waterfront sites right on the St Lawrence, great fishing or kayaking in the daytime. However the racoons are a real problem. We ended up moving to another state park after the first night because of how bold and persistent they were. This was even after we cleared all food/trash and anything remotely fragrant. I'm talking two or three at a time circling around, nosing into our tent, and coming up within just a few feet of us while we were trying to sit around the campfire. Almost zero fear of people, had to yell to even get them to back up a little, and even then they didn't want to leave or would come right back around. Maybe if you're in a crowded loop or an RV it's okay, but if you're just in a small tent or in a less busy area (we were nearly alone in loop A, site 044) consider somewhere else unless you want them bothering you all night. Beyond that the parking and spacing in certain areas isn't great, some sections are pretty over packed with sites. There's also a store, laundry room, and arcade too, but none of it was open when we checked (which seemed weird for...

I'm so sad to say that this is one of the dirtiest campground I have ever been at. At the campsite, trash and cigarette butts were all over. Clearly no park staff checked the site between previous check out and check in. BATHROOMS were disgusting! We were there for almost a week and was only "cleaned" once. Even after cleaning bandaids, qtips and glops of hair and toilet paper on the floor remained. The toilets also don't flush well so other people's excrement was left behind ever time we tried to use the bathroom. The beach was usually closed and ONE day they had the 1st 10ft of shallow water open to use. We also witnessed park staff wound and kill geese. We understand they are a nuisance, but seriously the beach was full of children and the time. I gave it 2 stars because it is in a beautiful location, the beach house and multiple playgrounds are nice. We liked the cement parking pads and wooded...

We typically camp in the ADK so my thoughts here include comparisons between the two. We liked that we didn’t have to worry about bears though we did see many raccoons. The river water was clear and we had access from our waterfront site on Loop A. There is significantly more boat activity than on ADK lakes so it’s not as peaceful. However, it was still a lot of fun. We did get a little cell service compared to none in the ADK. The drive up 81 is super easy and accessible for central NYers. I didn’t see any political flags at camp sites which was refreshing in this day and age. Our site was in Loop A, and there is a nice, clean modern bathhouse near sites 53-67 which is not on reserve america’s map online. As a whole the park has a lot to offer- nature center, beach, arcade, store, laundry. 👍👍 Also the playgrounds were very modern and it’s a great park for bikes, scooters and roller blades.
