Tried to go for Dark Hollow. I am handicapped and need wheelchair access. Don't bother to go if you're disabled. There are no ADA and they absolutely do not care about it. The parking lot where they tried to park me in was way to far away for me and my wheelchair. They offered no help at all. They actually made it more difficult by just watching my struggle. They literally stood there and watched. Offering no help. No shuttle services. Nothing. The price online was $20, but when you get there they want more and say they have "online fees" and wanted to charge me $33 instead. That is over 50% more and I didn't purchase online. When I refused I was offered a price of $25 instead. Shady stuff going on there! Show times were listed online, but those weren't actually the times either. My husband and I seemed to be the only patrons there at 5. Showtime. Long story short horrible ADA and being asked for more than it said online and us seeming to be the only folks...
Read moreStay here for two nights to attend a few shows at nearby beak and skiff. It was a big disappointment. Essentially you pay $70 per night to sleep in their lush grass parking lot. In no way did it resemble camping: no fire ring, no picnic table, no nothing. The camp has camp sites to be sure, and their beautiful, but they only allow their use for onsite festivals. To be honest, it felt a lot like a tourist trap, highway robbery scenario. The staff was nice, though disorganized. I do not think they really know what they are doing and they are certainly out of line for their treatment of campers on non-festival weekend. I would not return, and I would not camp their for a festival without first visiting the camp during a festival just to see how it functions. (photo shows you their "camp site." there instructions were simply park and camp anywhere on the edge of our...
Read moreOne of the bars had a sign that read "reverse ATM" and that pretty much sums it up. It just felt like a machine from top to bottom. $63 for a ticket. $167 to park our RV in a grass lot with no amenities after the show. Plus, every person staying in the RV had to have a $50 camping pass. Want food or water? Have half a cup of criss cut fries straight from the freezer for $9. Or how about two tall boys of miller light and two waters for $44? Seriously, screw this place and its "peaceful adventure". Seemed that everyone felt the same way I did and cleared out immediately after the show, and a crowd of at least a thousand became maybe 40 people sitting in their RVs wondering what they just spent $167 on.
It was kinda pretty, so adding a star against the will of my...
