I barely know how to put into words how bad our weekend was at this location.
First of all when getting there we realized how absolutely close all of the spots are together. Our neighbors on one side had their slide literally coming over our picnic table. The neighbor on the other side said that they always book two spots next to each other so they have enough room.
On our second day we decided to stay inside and watch the movies because it was still a little too warm out to enjoy outside. I suddenly got a call where somebody in the office said that they would be coming by to pick up our Dolly because it was against their rules for the dolly to be on the side. For reference we checked the guidelines on the website and the guidelines they ended up giving us after we had to ask for it in paper and neither said anything about trailers or dollys not being allowed in site. So after this call I go outside to wait for them to make sure that they hook up our dolly correctly because it is my property... And the dolly is already gone. So I have to call them again where the host and office person Brian we're extremely rude to us super condescended and pretty much treated us like children. host said "well ots not stolen so dont get upset" when our property leaving our person without our consent is it being stolen. Told us that Brian in the office had thought we were a couple who visit here often and already knew the Brian told us that the host thought. Host told us he would bring it over himself bright and early the day we leave, this was a lie.
But at the time we decided to let it go despite wanting to report this as theft. But our weekend countinued to have issues.
Quiet hours start at 10pm but youll hear partying and music until 1am. People stand in the middle of the roads and will not move ror cars. Showers were gross, had food wrappers thrown INTO the shower.
And now going back to the host. Bright and early the day we leave and no dolly...check out is at 11am ..10am comes and still no dolly. So i call the office. Nice lady working then. She tells us campers are supposed to go to the storage and pick up their things themselves (see the part of him lieing now?) she said she would call him for me and have him bring it to us.
He fianlly bring it to us. We once again say we couldnt find the rule on no trailers or dollies. He says "well its not my rule i have to fight people about the 3 car rule as well" super dismissive.
Highly suggest this campground make sure all their rules listed and re-educate their staff on touching personal property without consent before they get the cops called on them or sued.
And highly suggest to not stay at this over priced sardine...
Read moreWe visited the park as Travel Resorts owners and had major problems at this facility. First the positives, the park is pretty, spacious, and well cared for.
We own a 32' Class C, and we tow a 20' trailer. Whenever we make reservations at a new park, we call ahead to ensure our trailer will fit on the site. We were assured by the staff it would be no problem. When we arrived at the park we asked at the gate and were told it was no problem. When we reached site 108, an employee of the park watched us back in. We ensured our neighbors on site 107 were ok with the placement of the trailer, and then proceeded to set up camp. The sewer is located correctly, but the utilities are on the opposite side of the rig, too far for our electric cord. This forced us to fork over $50 to the camp store for an extension cable. I suspect we aren't the first people to fall into this trap. After we were completely set up, a guy in a golf cart rushes up to us, jumps out, runs up to us, and identies himself as an employee, and insists we move the trailer to an unsecured parking area, well out of our site or control. Turns out he was on site 109 and was a work camper. While he wasn't exactly disrespectful, his attitude was other than professional. With no other options, we unhooked everything and spotted the trailer up near the cafe. On our way there, we spotted a class A on site 172 or 173 with a trailer attached, and the next day a class C, towing a trailer set up camp site on 107. I wonder why the arrogant work camping honcho didn't say anything to them? I guess he couldn't see site 107, or the 170's from his back yard? We didn't report these rules violations because if it doesn't break my leg, or pick my pocket it's not my business. We've kept our trailer at Sycamore Lodge, Rocky Fork Ranch, and Gettysburg and the site easily accommodated our rig and trailer, and we were singled out by our neighbor. We'll likely return because we are paying for the privilege, but I promise the next time I won't be as tolerant. The reason I'm posting this review on google is with the hope that the next camper isn't forced to spend extra money to buy an extension cable at the camp store, or an extra hose, or be surprised at having been misled about trailer parking on...
Read moreWe bought a new travel trailer from Camping World and were given a free camping package. I say free but there is a string attached. You have to take a tour and listen to a sales pitch offering membership in the Travel Resorts of America. We knew what to expect before getting there. When we arrived, we were given a bundle of wood and the necessary ingredients to make s'mores. One of the staff, I am sorry to say I didn't get his name, escorted us to our campsite and helped up back in. When our electric cord wasn't long enough he scrambled around to find us one to borrow. Every other campground we have stayed at has had the electric. water and sewer close together, this isn't like that so make sure you have an extension cable, perhaps other sites are different. About an hour after we settled in Drew came by to welcome us and also mentioned the cafe and bar. Although we were prepared to cook, we opted to eat there. What a great meal and service. Very reasonable price good food and friendly staff. Dan picked us up for our tour right on time and drove us around the camp and then to the welcome center for the sales pitch. We enjoyed talking to Dan and Karen and although the program was not a fit for us at this time we certainly didn't think the presentation was a waste of time. When we told them were wouldn't be taking advantage of the offer they were just as nice and cordial as before. We never flet pressured at all.
We have stayed in two other TRA campgrounds and found them very nice as well.
We already belong to another similar camping club, our home club is Niagara's Lazy Lakes. The facilities there are terrible, we have stayed there several times and as member can't ever even get a full hook up site.
I really wish we had found Bass Lake Resort before we signed for the one we are in now. Perhaps when it runs out, we will look at Bass Lake again.
The only disappointment was that the fish in the lake weren't, biting but you can't blame that...
