The Yorkshire Inn — Hotel in Town of Phelps

My wife, daughter and I, plus a brother and his wife stayed at the Yorkshire Inn for two nights on thanksgiving weekend, and left delighted with our experience there. Micah and Darcy were wonderful hosts - attentive to our needs, friendly, personable, a delight to talk to, helpful and caring. The Inn -its private rooms ranging from quaint to luxurious, were comfortable and clean, the public spaces were spacious and comfortable, the décor homey and welcoming. The breakfasts were delicious, healthy, and when possible - organic, we particularly appreciated the hosts attentiveness to our gluten free preference. Two additional host family members - Cooper and Magnolia - rounded out the warmth, reception and delight of the host family. These two were entertaining, playful, and eager for attention. No friendlier dog and cat will you ever find. We enjoyed our Thanksgiving weekend stay so much, we've already booked a family reunion for next year. Our visit to the Yorkshire Inn was exceptional! The Inn is charming and comfortable and located conveniently close to the Thruway and several small towns with all of the conveniences you could possibly need!! We were welcomed by Micha and Darcey when we arrived and made to feel as though we were old friends back for a visit! The breakfasts were amazing and delicious with Micha displaying all of his culinary talents from his years as a chef in Chicago. The conversations with the two of them were engaging and as intimate as you choose. My 81 year old mother had traveled with us and anything special she needed was provided. The beds were so very comfortable and my mother claimed she had some of the best sleep she's had for a while! We sat on the upper deck several evenings watching the birds and wildlife and taking in the pretty setting of the Inn. After a long day of driving, it was nice to arrive at the Yorkshire Inn. Everything felt homey and relaxing, not like our usual cookie cutter hotel stays. Our room and beds were very comfortable and we all slept soundly. Breakfast was fantastic. Everything was fresh, homemade, and delicious and the service was spot on. Again, far superior to what we're used to from a chain hotel. We enjoyed playing with the family dog, our kids especially. Yet another great experience you don't get at a standard hotel. Overall a wonderful, memorable experience. I wish we were in town longer, but maybe some other time. If we find ourselves in the area, we would definitely love to stay here again.
