I really loved it here. The website doesn’t give you much to go on, but I had a feeling it would be a great spot and I was right. From the road, you’d never guess this place even exists. It’s tucked away, quiet, and surrounded by gorgeous, towering trees that I couldn’t stop admiring.
When we arrived around 2 p.m., the office was empty, but they had our information posted on a bulletin board, easy enough. The riverfront sites are nicely set up, and all our hookups worked perfectly. (The sewer cap did have a hole in the middle, which was a little odd, lol.) The map doesn’t mention them, but there are some lovely trails throughout the property, and I was surprised by just how big it is.
I do wish they had laundry facilities, maybe something they’ll add in the future. They do have a playground, pavilion with grills, a small community room, and they’re dog-friendly. Mosquitos are plentiful, so bring bug spray (and maybe even a zapper). For navigation, I think a small arrow on the trees by the first row of riverfront RVs would help indicate the loop exit. I only knew it was there because I walked the park, but not everyone does that.
The staff were friendly and the prices are right! This is one of the cheapest stays on our whole east coast/ New England route.
Getting to the park involves driving through a lot with uneven ground and potholes—nothing major, just take it slow. The city of Olean has a large homeless population, which I hadn’t expected, but the streets are surprisingly clean and well-kept. There are new businesses popping up, and I had fun tracking down the painted squirrel statues scattered around town.
The surrounding area is beautiful, with plenty to do if you don’t mind a 45-minute drive. We’ve been traveling since May, so we were slowing our pace, but we did make it to Rock City Park, which was a charming little stop. I’d love to come back here someday and have already recommended it to other full-time RVers.

Read moreWe love this campground , the reason for the 4 stars is due to no store in campground which makes it hard when you forget something. Our friends whom we camped with forgot milk and have a drive rig with no car in tow so we had to go 2 miles down the road to grab the essentials. There is so much potential for this campground, a store more activities for kids and adults , there used to be a restaurant upfront that they don't utilize which would be an amazing asset , I mean your camping and sometimes want to not cook ,could clearly rent out kayaks and have a bait shop , they could advertise for the local attractions as well such as Rock City Park In Olean or Spragues restaurant on 305 . We know its under new ownership as of last year so we are hoping they take it in the right direction as this would be a permanent staple for a weekend get away for us. They have an elderly woman who seems to be the management there which can post an issue as well , we rang the bell to inquire about buying a sweatshirt and she clearly was Not Happy about having to come out of her camper to assist when she came out she looked at us and said " did you ring my bell in a not so nice tone and stated she didnt know what they have and what not. Thing is if your selling these things you need someone in that office at regular intervals to welcome guests and be able to sell those items. Our friends that we camped with were told upon check in that she would be over with their wifi password and she never did give it to them. Of course we did but the management of the office or lack there of is going to be the demise of this park. They had bingo on Saturday night which was alot of fun and the person calling the bingo had super energy and should be the one running the office as he was what and who you would want to see when you check in and out or just want to buy a tshirt. We really hope things turn around and start showing more potential as we love it here but would love...
Read moreso you may say what is there to love about a campground.. Let me start by saying that i am a city girl,.. this was the first time i pitched a tent by myself.. its the first time i camped by myself.. with that said.. lets start with the rates.. the rates were great.. inexpensive.. when i arrived.. i had just caught Carrie leaving.. I had already known my spot and I was able to just go set up.. Carrie caught up with me later in my stay to register me. I pitched my tent on an ideal spot. I asked to be near the bathrooms and on the river.. i had a pretty level site.. there was a concrete pad and a tree.. and nice lawn for me to camp on. I had power and water, and could even have asked for wifi..for an additional dollar a day. The campground it does not have a pool.. but it has a playground for the kids.. there is the river where you see kayakers and tubers.. and people enjoying the river.. I also had a firepit. The campground by night was quiet even thou there were may rvs on the grounds.. there were a few tents like myself. The shower was private..meaning only one person at a time but in the week i was there I never had to wait nor did i know if anyone was waiting on me.. Incredibly there were not alot of bugs in the bathroom either. I had initially thought i would be there for 5 days but had extended my visit to 7 with out any issue.. then.. unfortunately, I have to leave unexpectedly. Carrie was so generous that she refunded the 2 day stay to me. Now that is great business.. I will definitely go back there next year as it was like being at home. Carrie is amazing. The campground is also close to my favorite restaurant in the area..Spragues Maple.. their breakfast is amazing and available all day long.. also not far was a very interesting ww2 museum and zippo lighters.. Want to enjoy your camping vacation.. i wholeheartedly recommend...
