This morning I finally had enough of the poor service and poor mountain conditions. Surface conditions posted at 6:51am on your website said “Loose Granular, Frozen Granular, Spring Conditions” was a flat out LIE. It was mostly ICE. The groomer did not even come out to the bunny slope until 10:40am. What were you doing since 7am? Nothing! What’s sad is the conditions would have been okay if you had actually groomed. The rain yesterday is not an excuse. There was plenty of time to groom. That much ice is downright dangerous. In addition, the long lift lines, disgusting bathrooms, closed lifts, poor lift maintenance, lack of snow making, all of this has made Song into a dump. This is inexcusable since the last two seasons have been outstanding for skier turnout and all the Payroll Protection Program money. In other words, you have had free employees for the last two seasons that are paid for by taxpayers. Where is all the money going? Definitely not into the mountain. Good leaders lead by example. Maybe you should leave your bar and go work shoulder-to-shoulder with your employees. But if you are treating your employees as bad as you treat your mountain it is no wonder they keep quitting and you can’t find more.
The Ski CNY motto should be: “Last to open and first to close.”
Peter you should be ashamed...
Read moreA huge shout out to the staff at Song. I was hanging out in my car while my daughter and her friend were skiing. When I went to start my car my battery was dead. The staff in the lodge were very helpful and called maintenance to see if they could give me a jump. Within a few minutes a very nice young man was down at my car helping me out. I didn't catch his name , but he did say he was on snowmaking. Now newer cars not to so easy to get to the battery! He was so patient as we tried to read the tiny print manual in the dark in the freezing cold. We had to remove pieces and everything to get to get to that darn battery! He called some other guys to come help us out. With in minutes two other employees showed up on a snowmobile to help! They figured out how to get to the battery that was so well hidden by all the other parts of the car! They were are so nice, so helpful and saved my day! I tried to offer than a tip for going above and beyond, but they refused saying "We're on the clock and it's all part of our job." Class act these fine young gentlemen were! Thanks so much guys! I truly am so grateful! Plus, my daughter had never been skiing before and Song was a great place for her to start! She loved every minute of it and we plan on going...
Read moreOne of my favorite ski hills in upstate NY.
Specificly I love that they have multiple options for green circles (easy trails).
I am a 30 year skier but my 7 year old and wife are not. It was very hard to transition them from a tiny training hill (4 seasons) to a real ski slope.
Song has a specific lift (lift B) that is very small and drops off in a green circle path only. It's as good as if not better than the training hill that is 4 seasons but of course a little more costly as it's a full mountain available.
The point is that I was able to buy a yearly ski pass as they have options for beginners and experts alike. AND NOW, a season pass is good at LAB and Song for the same price so you get two mountains in one... Although my beginners LOVE song so may not get to lab this year anywho. So much available at song!!
It's the best mountain close to home, ESPECIALLY for beginners, then there is no other full mountain to consider.
So sorry for not a perfect 5 star, it's only because I'm geading against ski mountains like gore and killington that are 5 times the size.
Oh man.. ok maybe will make this five stars later.. I love this place and have been a yearly pass holders off and on over the...
