This place is awesome, and Lenny and Karl are fantastic hosts. It’s a farm and an inn, offering a truly great experience. They have chickens, cows, and horses. Here, you’ll see genuine free-range chickens roaming across their 440 acres of land. Be sure to take their farm tour — you’ll be amazed at how this couple manages everything on their own, without any outside help. They are true farmers by choice, and I truly applaud their commitment to organic farming. Their breakfast is simply perfect. They use eggs from their free-range chickens, and you can clearly taste the difference. The home-baked bread is out of this world! Feel free to ask for an extra slice :) Lenny and Karl also shared some amazing stories with us. After hearing them, my respect for farmers has easily doubled — or even tripled. We’ll definitely be coming back to this incredible place in the heart of the Adirondacks.

I moved from the Midwest to NYC a few years back. I desperately miss nature, a slower way of living, and being around animals as much as I had access to back "home". My boyfriend and I decided to move away from the norm of AirBnbs and decided to try out a cute bed and breakfast. I am so grateful to come across the Inn on Lake Champlain. The farm is gorgeous. The horses and cows are so special. Lani and Karl are fabulous hosts. We had breakfast each morning and had a great time getting to know the hosts - you both are such interesting people, and my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing your stories. What a special place this is. I'm excited to return somewhere in the future. If you are looking to experience a slower, "back to the roots" way of living - I'd highly recommend staying here. I felt very sad to go home, but grateful to have the experience!

Had a wonderful stay at the Inn on Lake Champlain. Karl and Lani are very welcoming and make you feel right at home. The room was perfect and bed very comfortable. Karl's breakfast and coffee are not to be missed. We also enjoyed exploring the farm property and our little hike down to the lake. Our highlight were the dogs, The adult dogs were well behaved and friendly and the puppies were adorable. It was nice to watch Lani milking the cows and seeing the horses. Then there were the roosters! Apparently, they don't start crowing at dawn. A misconception on our part. If you're a light sleeper keep in mind it is a working farm. We thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to visit again. Robert and Lynda Brown

The couple running this inn were sincere and appear quite committed to raising their children in a healthy and wholesome environment. Because of this, I did not ask for refund for what turned out to be a jarring stay. Although we booked for two nights, we left after the first night.

My recommendations: 1.) Guests should be warned about the numerous roosters on the property. They started crowing at 2:30 a.m. during our visit and did not stop. Three out of the four guests in my party were unable to go back to sleep after the crowing started. Could the roosters be moved further away from guest rooms? Could they be put in a protective chicken coop at night? 2.) Consider providing comfortable seating for guests in the main living area. Think about raising the shelf with the taxidermy fox so guests aren't hitting their head on it when seated. 3.) Do not recommend a restaurant in your welcome email and then verbally bash it. Provide honest recommendations for nearby establishments. 4.) To say the inn overlooks Lake Champlain is a bit misleading. The lake, from what we could see, is not visible from the inn. 5.) Keep basic cleanliness practices in mind when opening your home to strangers. Potentially wear something to cover feet. Think about diapering young children for their own safety. 6.) Provide instructions for connecting to the, "high speed internet", in guest rooms. 7.) Do not tell guests that running a B&B is the last thing you and your wife wanted to do. Guests will NOT feel welcome. Yes, we felt sorry for you, but we also felt uncomfortable. If you don't want to run...

If you’re visiting the Ticonderoga area and are looking for an alternative to sketchy-looking chain motels or even sketchier-looking motels, this is a nice alternative. The property is a large working farm about 15 minutes outside of Ticonderoga, which is in the process of being remodeled by the owners. It is obvious that the owners are putting a large amount of sweat equity into the location, and when finished, it will be fabulous. Even as a work in progress, the rooms are quaint, pretty, and nicely decorated. It’s also quiet—at night, the only noise is the sounds of the crickets chirping outside. Several people have mentioned the breakfasts, and they’re right—fresh eggs, fresh baked bread, quality bacon—truly excellent. You can also sit on the porch in the evening as you watch the sun set and pet the friendly farm dogs and cats. ||A few things to know:|1). It’s an old farmhouse, so the stairs to the rooms are steep—that might be an issue if you have mobility issues. |2. WiFi connections were very spotty; great if you want to decompress, but not if you need to get work done in the evening. |3. There are a variety of things you can add to your stay (prices on the website) such as afternoon tea, eggs for purchase, pony rides, etc. We didn’t do any of them, but we saw others doing so, and they looked fun. |4. Agin, it’s a working farm with a family living there. It isn’t a “lounge in bed until late in the morning” kind of place, and besides, you wouldn’t want to miss...

The Inn on Lake Champlain has all the usual elements expected of a 5* Bed & Breakfast – most gracious hosts who exude the definition of hospitality; comfortable and quiet accommodations, literally the shortest farm to table gourmet breakfast you will ever enjoy, all combined with the opportunity to meet interesting folks from points elsewhere. However, the Inn has another unique quality that separates it from the numerous B&Bs we have visited in our many years of travel. ||Karl and Lani Ohly are the proprietors of the Inn which is part of a “no, I am not kidding” real life working farm that includes horses, cows, chickens, two large but very, very benign dogs and an alleged cat on the premises. And have no fears, all animals live outside and do not interrupt your sleep! ||The Ohlys also have four lovely children. And have no fears, the kids live inside and do not interrupt your sleep! In fact, the family lives under the same roof of their incredibly well restored home somewhere that is separate from the B&B guest quarters. ||Somehow/someway, the Ohlys turn all of the above into a most wonderful and unique B&B experience. We departed bidding our heartfelt goodbyes as if the Olys were dear family members who had invited us for a weekend of fun, relaxation...
