This park has been going downhill the last few. I'm thinking someone new is in charge. When checking in at Red House Campground on a Friday, the ad bldg had 3 computer station with one person checking. My husband was told he had to check in at the campground. There was one person working & about a dozen campers/RVs were lined up on the road waiting to go through the gate blocking already registered campers from entering the campground. After over an hour of waiting, my husband was told he could not check in because the site was in his wife's name. Are you kidding me? This was this past year. The previous year we had the same ridiculous wait & the same blocking of the entrance, but were able to check in as it was in his name. I would have thought they would figure this does not work well. Read moreAs far as state parks in New York go this is one of the better ones in my opinion. There’s a couple lakes to boat on or fish and kinzua reservoir is really close. They have great fishing there. There are a bunch of cannabis shops close by as well if you wanna get high and camp like a normal camping type person. Cheap gas and cigarettes on the Rez too! So sit back smoke a bowl chase it with a smoke and pop the top on a coors light and get camping! Cost ya $7 to get in and there’s plenty of places to hike in the park if you just staying for the day or being cool...
