Beware. Editing from a former 5 star review. This was once one of my husband and I’s most favorite 1-state-away-getaways! The name was recently changed from Pine Grove Park to Hay Creek Cabins to re-market / rebrand this once wonderful place. The rebrand was necessary after the owner went on a drunken tirade on Facebook disgustingly and vulgarly insulting the entirety of their now former clientele. While the grounds and cabins are indeed quaint and beautiful, we will be taking our business to a place that appreciates their patrons, rather than insults them.
In response to your response....yes we have stayed. Several times, both in the Tamarak an the Willow View guest houses. Like I said, the cabins and property are indeed beautiful and quaint. However, your tirade really turned me off to spending anymore of our money with someone who refers to it’s now former clientele as glutinous and wasteful. My photos were removed.
In response to your edited response - I did not mention once about the breakfasts in my initial review. I realize that this is no longer what this is. I understand that you have a family and a business to run and that you must make decisions that balance both. I understand work family balance. Were we disappointed? - of course, but would have returned anyway. It was the tone, vulgarity, ill wishes toward now former patrons, and the complete lack of tact and respect that has turned us off to ever returning in the future. People deserve to know what they...
Read moreMy wife and I have been coming here for about 15 years. Yeah, there are some small changes compared to the previous owners but overall you're only giving up the "breakfast" in "Bed and Breakfast". They do have some locally made "quiche and muffins" but if the "breakfast" is a deal breaker to you, then you're not really appreciating this great place for what it is. There are individual private cabins each with their own stove heater as well as regular heat and air conditioning, TV with a Roku / Netflix and most with a jacuzzi. Really nice property with a pond and hiking trails literally just 20 minutes away from Wisconsin Dells. Enjoy a nice romantic evening with your loved one, go for a hike the next morning and then go out see some of the dozens of enjoyable tourist attractions in the area. We've been to many bed and breakfasts and this is the only one we've ever returned to... like 8 times. We will always be back; it's our favorite place to visit...
Read moreAwful communication. We confirmed a booking online. We then got an e-mail from the host, explaining the online system had been incorrectly reporting the booking status and that we would have to shorten our stay by one night.
So, I responded that we were willing to accept that new shortened stay. The next day, I received a notification (not even a formal e-mail from the host) that our stay had been cancelled and that the cabin was fully booked. At the time of writing this, we still have not received a response from anyone as to what happened or why.
One of the worst communication experiences of all time. I would suggest everyone stay...
