We just recently stayed here in early August and we absolutely Loved it! I just talked to one of the owner's daughters on the phone and then to John, the owner and they were both so friendly with Great suggestions of places we might like to check out like Panama Rocks Scenic Park (which was Amazing!!!)and they were both so helpful! I couldn't wait to go there! From the moment he met him, my husband really liked John too! John is a one of a kind! There need to be people like him! He let us come in later and just truly helped our family feel at home at the campground! He didn't rush us on paying him as soon as we got there but instead invited us to go down to the beach there and enjoy the Beautiful sunset over Lake Erie!! The morning after we arrived, we woke up early and my husband cast a few lines while my daughter and I excitedly looked for sea glass! We had such a Beautiful peaceful morning!! We camped here and went to Presque Isle by Erie, PA for the day. John even let us leave our camper so we could travel on our Anniversary to Ohio and Michigan! We just had the Best time there and all 3 of us agree that if we are ever in the Lake Erie area again, that this would be the place that we would stay again!! It's close enough for a weekend get away for us too. We have traveled cross country and this by far is one of our most Favorite RV campgrounds! Excellent customer service makes such a big difference and this Beautiful Family owned and operated campground, has it!! Hats off to you , John and family! We'll be back to see...

My wife and I were traveling from Indiana to New Hampshire in late April, when our newly purchased RV had a check engine light come on. We called ahead to Lakeside Campground and were able to secure a site. We received a warm welcome from the owners daughter and she made sure we had everything we needed to get set up. She told us that when her father returned, she would tell him about our mechanical situation and that he might be able to help us find someone who could possibly diagnose the problem. When John stopped by our site the next morning and introduced himself, it was pouring rain. He invited me into his truck and made some phone calls to local repair shops. Unable to find anyone who was able to work on a MB Diesel, he drove me to a local towing company to try and secure a tow truck. Needless to say, he went above and beyond what any camper might expect from a campground owner! Mind you that the campground had just opened for the season and I'm sure he had many other issues to attend to. We will never forget his care and concern for our situation. You won't find better folks to camp with, and the location is also amazing as...

We took a VERY last minute trip for 4th of July, and lucked up with a great tent spot at Lakeside. The majority of the tent camping availability is situated in a large field, therefore is highly recommend a Pop-Ip tent for shade. There are restrooms and showers avail on site. They are slightly dated but very clean. I was very impressed with the walk ability of the campground. The campground is very geared towards RV so if you are looking for RV or tent, or even cottage rentals they can absolutely accommodate you! John and Cindy are rare finds. They are good and wholesome in the most amazing way. We arrived very late (detour and traveling with small children) and they were more than accommodating. Rounds are made throughout the day and evening to ensure everybody is well settled.

The lake access is great. The views are stunning. Take the time to stop and stay a day or two with...

Chose this site for an impulse camping trip and really enjoyed it. My tent site was spacious, flat, and had electric. The ground is perfect for staking your tent (not too hard and not too soft), and is not rocky. There is a fire pit and a table. I was able to park right next to my tent. There is a bathroom with hot shower and sink. It wasn't very clean, but for a campsite it met my expectations. Hot shower is always a plus when camping. There's a ramp on the property that leads down to a little landing where you can launch boats into the lake. It's also got a small rocky area off the ramp that's perfect for sitting and enjoying the beautiful view of the lake. See my photos for a picture of the lake from the area, as well as the campsite. All of the staff and seasonal campers were very friendly and helpful!

We were on our way up to Erie for some wine tasting and decided to stay a couple of nights. We randomly chose lakeside, and boy! Are we glad we did! This place was PERFECT for what we needed. Bathrooms were right next to us (super clean). Full hook-ups. Fire ring. And it was the perfect location for access to the best wineries! Johns hospitality was great! He got us right in and helped us get acclimated to the area. Gave us a wine map, and some recommendations for the surrounding wineries. Just a short walk and your RIGHT on lake Erie watching the sunset. Nice little beach to walk on in the morning, too. SO pleased :o) if you're in the area, stop on by! You'll be happy you did!
