Villa Sposa — Hotel in Town of Roxbury

Everything about Villa Sposa speaks of comfort... make that sings! Every detail has been thought of before arrival. And each and every detail is amazing. The bed was exceptionally comfortable with soft linens. Even the outside furniture is nap-worthy! The art and decorations kept us entranced. Keep your eyes open when you're here, there are some things you don't want to miss! It's very private with huge decks (don't forget the hot tub - at night! with the sky full of SO many stars) and some great mountain views. Think coffee on the deck watching the morning mist on the mountains. We felt like we were the only people for miles and at times we didn't want to leave. Why leave when it's made so easy to unwind and breathe in nature? We truly felt that the owners went out of their way to make the house not just wonderful but easy to lose the city stress brain (the very cool meditation space comes to mind)! But it's very close to the villages of Roxbury and Margaretville where there's some very good shopping and dining. Plattekill Mountain is just a short drive and we're looking to return next winer for snow tubing - and after doing that we'll warm up in the outside hot tub on our private deck!!! My partner and I plus two friends visited Villa Sposa last week. We wanted to get away from the city and enjoy a nice long weekend in an environment where we could just relax and decompress. The villa was recommended to us by a friend who had stayed there before who said, "Just go and enjoy it. It is beautiful." Amazing is a more accurate description of this place I would say. The eclectic decor of the house interiors makes it the most comfortable place in the world to be away from home. It was wonderful to just lay around reading a book in one of the many couches in the living room area, having tea in one of the many beautiful decorated areas of the house, or cooking a simple meal in the very well equipped kitchen. Walking the peaceful surroundings of the house, enjoying the outdoor jacuzzi, or just relaxing at the meditation hut were other additional pleasures of being at Villa Sposa. It is without a doubt a place we would be coming back again and again. Amazing find!!! We highly...

Just the most spectacular home we have ever been in, let alone have had to ourselves. We got married at Villa Sposa three years ago, in an intimate ceremony with immediate family and closest friends, and the profound beauty and magic of this space and the person who keeps it are still talked about with reverent awe.

We caught that the house was up for sale, and so for our third anniversary we returned to spend time in Villa Sposa for possibly the last time. It was as radiant as ever, with somehow even more treasures and surprises adorning the surfaces. Moving slowly through the house and appreciating every stunning corner of it was an emotional and delightful gift. It was as magical a stay as we could have ever hoped for. We're beyond grateful to have discovered this place, been married in it, and to have gotten to stay in it again in the peaceful quiet. And we're beyond grateful for Mercedes for her care and friendship, and all she does in sharing the magic of this place. Long Live...
