The campground is accessed via another campground. The sites are rustic and varied. Most of the sites are lakeside and several have easy access to the water. This area is a kayakers dream. The boat ramp provides access to Rollins Pond for trailered boats and for those who do not have easy paddle craft access from there campsite. There is also access to Whey pond. Canoe and kayak rentals are available too. The campsite itself: mine had room for my small trailer camper. There is no hard pad which suites me - making it eassier to stake out my awning. The sites would have been big enough to set up a tent. There is no electric, sewer or water hookup. The stand pipes for drinking water are close to most sites. The water tastes good. There are two large shower blocks - clean but could use some maintenance. There are also restrooms with flush toilets scattered throughout the campground. My site was mostly shaded with some mid-day sun. Central dish washing stations are available at the garbage/recycling centres. Cell phone signal is sporadic. At my site I got one bar (Verizon) occasionally.

Rollins Pond campground is a wonderful introduction to the Adirondacks. It is located within easy access to miles of terrific hikes and allows paddling to several small and large waterways. Though this campground is quite popular, the sites are nicely spaced to allow some level of privacy. There is a large shower room for the entire campground, that is in pretty good condition. Usually 1 or 2 stalls are out of order or doors don't lock. The water temperature is fixed at the main, (you do not control your spigot), which can be tricky. There are several bathrooms with running water throughout the campground which is a great luxury. The sinks have cold water only, no soap or towels provided. The staff have always been informed about the area and extremely helpful and pleasant. We love the rolling ice cream truck (real hard packed ice cream) that drives through after dinner, and hope to see a return of the firewood/ice delivery service. Be advised, there are NO dish washing stations at this campground.

This is a very nice area with beautiful ponds connected by portage trails. Rollins Pond campground has more space between sites than Fish Creek so is slightly more private. But both campgrounds are very busy with not much real privacy. If you want privacy I suggest you try one of the remote camping sites on the ponds with no road access.||Facilities here are also good with lots of recreational opportunities including trails, canoe and kayak rentals and basketball and volleyball courts. They also have daily ice truck delivery to your site, a real handy thing, and an ice cream truck makes its rounds frequently as well. Fishing in the pond is good too.||There are many conveniently located restroom facilities near the campsites with toilets and sinks with cold water only. A single bath house serves the whole 200+ site campground. Being an avid camper and having camped at mainly state facilities all across the country, I have never seen such filthy bathroom facilities. They were worse than the sketchiest garage back bathroom suffering from years of neglect.||When I complained to the gate attendant teenage boy (seems like the whole place was run by teenage boys), he apologized and said that the park is under funded. I saw the teenage boy bathroom cleaner/garbage picker uppers attend the bathrooms daily, however. But they didn’t have much with them in the way of cleaning tools.||But hey, the help wanted sign said that it only pays $13.60 an hour starting wage to work at the campground, and that low wage can’t possibly include actually cleaning the bathrooms right?||I wish I had stayed at one of the remote camping sites. The woods are much cleaner. Sorry, I can’t recommend Rollins Pond for this reason. The caretaker needs to hold the worker boys accountable or the State of NY needs to get a new caretaker. It’s a shame since this park has so much...

Worst experience in my 30 years of camping.People did not abide by the 10pm to 7am quiet time, generators were running people riding bikes and yelling to each other, camper doors slamming over and over.People smoking pot in the bathrooms and kids getting high at vacant camp sites or while riding bikes. Cars were coming through at 30 mph easy when the speed limit is 15 mph even at 11:30 at night whipping through. There was no consideration among most of the campers,I waited 5 min. to use the sink after going to the bathroom because dad and his boys were brushing their teeth and slamming stall doors and dad was throwing water at them never asking if I would like to wash up. People would let the door close behind them and not hold it for an elderly person right behind them or teens would yell move over when riding their bikes through getting high. We considered leaving after just 2 days but stuck it out so we could do the hikes we came here for. This park needs better park ranger or park police presence to get these campers under control at this place. Only saw park employees once or twice the whole day and all they did is drive by in their golf cart going fast enough that when they hit the speed bump tools would fall off.Don't get me wrong I'm not an angry person or hate kids playing outside but there are rules for a reason and maybe remember some respect and consideration...
