By far the worst campground I have ever stayed at. My friend and I had booked a cabin for this past weekend to go see Motley Crue, Def Leppard, and Alice Cooper. We were already getting yelled at to go the speed limit as soon as we got there Friday night when we actually were going the speed limit. My friend has an old 2003 Chevy Trailblazer which has a loud rev and creaky rotors which some people might assume that we were going fast when we weren’t. The owner said something to us about it and we had tried explaining to him that we were going the limit and he said “well people don’t usually complain if you are going the speed limit so just watch it.” He was very rude about it. On top of that, on our way back from the concert (which was a half hour away from our campground), the brakes in my friends car were almost ready to go out. She had the pump her brakes the whole way back and they were squealing so bad and were very loud. We luckily made it back to the campground but the entrance to the campground is a dirt path that is a steep downhill then a steep uphill. We had already been getting yelled at for the speed limit situation and we didn’t want to have any more issues and didn’t want to deal with people complaining about the noise late at night that was out of our control. My friend and I had decided to park the car as far off to the side as possible at the entrance so people could still get in and out and we walked back to our campsite. This was about 1 am yesterday. We were chilling in our cabin for a little bit until the owner came by. He was a real a**hole about the situation and kept saying that if we didn’t move it that he was calling the sheriffs to get it impounded. We tried explaining to him the situation that we didn’t want to move it and risk the brakes going out completely and that her parents were on their way here (note 2 hours away from where the campground is). We asked him if we could wait till her parents get here to move it. He said “that is not soon enough… I’m going to have to call the sheriffs to get it impounded.” As he left, my friend started balling her eyes out and was stressed and worried about the situation as we don’t have the money to get it towed and neither do her parents. The owners son was a lot nicer and he stopped by and apologized about his dad and said he doesn’t want to see our car get towed and if it does that he will pay for. We then explained the situation to him and he took the keys and moved the car to a spot inside the campground out of the way. He came back with his dad and to give us the keys back. His dad (the owner) had apologized to us. We surely do not accept his apology and we’re treated very poorly. My friends parents didn’t get to the campground until 4:30 am yesterday and we immediately left as we didn’t not want to stay there any longer. My friends mom was nice enough to drop me off at the hotel that my other friend, who I consider my second mom, was staying at close by as she was in Syracuse for the night to see the concert also. Didn’t get to the hotel till around 5:30 am and I didn’t get to sleep until 6:30 am. As for the campground itself, the walls and floors of the cabins have decent sized holes to where bugs and other things can easily get in, their is no air conditioners, and if you look in between the cracks of the walls, the only insulation is thin slices of plastic like the plastic you use for packaging. Their are only 2 showers in each of the men’s and women’s bathhouses that are only divided by a shower curtain so someone could easily walk in on you. I have never had such a horrible experience in my life. If I go back to Syracuse, I will definitely not be staying there and I don’t recommend staying at...
Read moreDo not, I repeat, do not book site #22!!!! We booked a stay there for four days. Upon arriving and setting up our camper, we noticed the sewer line to hook up our sewer hose was above ground, with no proper connection for our hose…it was a 4” pvc pipe with a screw on closed end. The pvc ran around the campsite next to us. Even worse, the pvc pipe sat higher than our sewer connection, and the pipe itself ran uphill. We managed to get our sewer hose into the end of the pvc, but on day two, when we went to empty our gray water, the pvc pipe only took a little of the water and then stopped, leaving the hose filled with gray water. We asked the owner to come over to see what could be done. He brought over two fittings, neither of which would have worked. We had to get a 5 gallon bucket and pour the remaining water in the hose into the bucket, and carry it to the dump station (located near our site). I went to use the camp bathroom and wash my hands…lo and behold , there was no soap in either soap dispenser (my husband said there was none in the men’s room either). The seasonal campers next to us said this happens all the time, and even 5th wheels don’t sit high enough to allow gravity to drain the tank. We ended up putting our hose away, and paying for a full hook up when we no longer had sewer. We left the next morning, a day early. The owner made no attempt to check to see if the issue had been resolved, and never offered to reimburse us for the full hook-up rate we had paid. Site # 22 is a health hazard, and the owners should NOT be booking campers on this site until they resolve the sewer issue. @...
Read moreWe stayed in a cabin. First, the picture is deceptive as it is not a line of cabins surrounded by a beautiful scenery, it is located in the middle of the rv park, across from the office, and next to the propane tank fill station that leaks. There is also a large humming transformer near by and the questionable playground is located behind the cabin. Second, the bathrooms are incredibly gross and has not been cleaned in I don't want to know how long. While using the toilet you have to balance the two dirty shutter doors closed as they do not lock. Next, the cabins condition was disgusting. It had also not been cleaned in way too long. They count on the guests cleaning it for them. It is spider infested, with even spider eggs in the beds. We now have so many bites. The mattresses were stained and torn. The fan didn't work, just hummed. While the unit is hooked up to electricity, there is no water connected, the water spigot around the back is turned off. The fire pit had not been cleared out, and was filled more than 1/2 way with ashes. Then the beach, and swim area is extremely small and lined with fish hooks, so if you brave it make sure to wear your shoes. On another note, if you are a seasonal you don't have to follow any rules, you can reck havoc at all hours, but if you are just a first timer, you will have to follow all rules to a T and be threatened with getting thrown out. The owners only care about themselves and there clique of seasonals. We will not be back. Truly...
