What a transformation! We stayed here back in 2017 and said we would never return. But after learning the motel sold in 2019 and seeing all the new renovation photos on their website, we decided to give it another try. I’m so glad we did.
The new owner cares greatly about the quality of your stay. We are avid hikers and she went out of her way, daily, to prepare a morning breakfast bag for us. We had apple juice, orange juice, fresh baked blueberry scones, granola bars, yogurt and bananas.
We stayed in the bear room and it was great. It has two double beds and daily house keeping. We had fresh, plush, towels and wash cloths daily. This is huge!!! None of that thin, rough stuff that the other places have. The bathroom had ZERO mold. Nothing in the shower, shower curtain, sink, grout/caulk. No mold anywhere! The shower had great pressure with hot water and zero calcium build up in the shower head. The room had a large flat screen tv that was hung on the wall directly between the two beds. Also a huge plus, as I can’t tell you how many rooms we’ve stayed in and the TV is just shoved to one side of the room.
Super fast Wi-Fi which is hard to come by anymore. A mini fridge that actually keeps your stuff cold and a small microwave. The beds are basically brand new. I actually thought mine was a memory foam one. Makes no noise when turning side to side and it’s very comfortable to sleep in.
When we checked in, we received a bag of fresh made oatmeal cookies that were really good. There’s not much of anything that Tammy hasn’t thought of. I guess if there was anything at all to suggest… I would say that it would be nice to have boot trays in rooms so that when we get back from hiking, we don’t track mud and dirt all over the floors. We could just store them in the tray.
I can honestly say that I understand why this motel is winning awards. It deserves each and every one! Before we left, we booked another stay. So if you’re on the fence about this one… give it a shot. You won’t be...
Read moreReview as of October 7, 2021: We are here right now. And our visit this time is just as wonderful as the first time. Tammy, the owner, is an absolute sweetheart. My Baby Girl has gone through a lot these past few months. With losing loved ones and changes going on in her life she’s been beyond overwhelmed. We visited very many beautiful places here in the Adirondacks and were happy to have visited them. But at the end of the day all she wanted was to be here at Blue Ridge Motel and enjoy a beautiful fire at the fire pit. Thank you, Tammy, for this wonderful place.
Review from April 2021: We had such a wonderful stay at the Blue Ridge Motel. Tammy Brown, the new owner of the motel since December 2019, is such a lovely person. The moment we met her we knew we made the right choice to stay at her motel. She has such a loving and uplifting energy, and you can see it manifest in how she designed her rooms, as well as the check-in area. She took what could have been just simple motel rooms and made each of them so beautiful and unique from one another. And the check-in area, which also includes a gift shop, breakfast area and a sitting area, were so beautifully designed too. Soooo creative!!! Our room was comfortable and clean and quiet. And we absolutely loved, loved, loved being able to make a fire outdoors in one of the two fire-pits that were on the property. We also met a lovely couple from NH while celebrating life and serenity around the fire-pit. We really didn’t want to leave and return back to where we live. In fact, we were in a funk upon our return. God (and finances, as well as time) willing, we will be back as soon as we can. Thank you so very much, Tammy, for everything!!!
P.S. Tammy also has a wealth of knowledge. She gave us some great suggestions about where to go for hikes that were tailored to our abilities, as well as...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I came to Blue Ridge to spend some time at the falls and thought it might be nice to get a room somewhere in the area so we could enjoy a full day, and some of the next day in this beautiful place. We had driven by The Blue Ridge Motel before and always thought it looked cute. We got a room for an awesome price, and we were blown away by how beautiful our room was ! It was beautifully decorated with thoughtfully handpicked pieces by the owner. From the beautiful painting that blended perfectly with the vibrant, yet tasteful color of the walls and bedspread, to the elegant lamp fixtures, and pretty wall mirror bordered with sparkling silver squares--- It was far more high class than we expected from a quaint little place with such a low price. We kind of expected for the price, it would just be something plain and basic-- but we were pleasantly surprised with the beauty of the décor, and the warm atmosphere. We stayed in "The Sweetheart Suite:. I loved it so much, I was curious to see what some of the other rooms looked like too. The owner, Tammy, was kind enough to show me a few of them. Each was just as beautiful, with its own unique theme, décor, and design. The hospitality was amazing. We were treated like family. The owner went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. In addition, the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, and the room came equipped with a flat screen TV, a mini-fridge, and a microwave. Outside were patio chairs, and a beautiful lawn with picnic tables and grills. There is a cute little gift shop in the lobby. It was clean and cozy, peaceful, and beautiful ! We had such a nice stay here, and are so happy we discovered this place- we HIGHLY recommend this place to any and everyone. You...
