This place is a dump- I would have rated it a zero but that isn't a choice. Specifically speaking- about the rooms in the back of the main motel. Room smells of mold and dust, air conditioner had inches of dust on it- probably the filter had never been changed. The carpet was filthy. The blinds were broken and dusty. The bathroom sink didn't work properly- water was backed up for several minutes before draining out. The lawn hadn't been mowed in weeks- we walked through tall wet grass to and from the room. The tv didn't work. There was garbage around the outside of the building-many empty bleach bottles and a mattress topper. The water that came initially from the shower was brown. Not sure that this room is even legal to rent to anyone. Had we been able to find another motel for the night we would have left this dump, however being a holiday weekend we could not find anything. I did make a complaint and advised that I would dispute the charge with my credit card company after three calls to the Inn and various stories they did finally credit me half of the charge- and that was even too much- place isn't worth 50 a night. Everything in life is a learning lesson and the lesson here is to always check the room prior to unloading your vehicle and paying for it. Photos show the garbage around...
Read moreOk, so a 3 is my overall rating... the service was great. We had room 5. It had a weird odor to it. It's kind of like a nursing home? We asked to switch and they gave us room 10. It had an antiseptic smell. It's much better than the old folks' home, but still strong. It smelled more like a sterile hospital room. We even tried a candle. It did not help. The room was comfortable. Bed a little firm. There were crumbs and dust under the bed. We did not shower there, but the water seemed fine for washing hands and brushing teeth. The owner asked us if we needed a microwave, but we were fine without it. It was a connecting room, and it did not have a pick on it. The lock was broken. There was a butter knife through trim to keep it locked!?! It was painted in, so you know it was there awhile. The floors we newer no yucky carpeting, so that was nice. Sheets and bed seemed clean. 3 different locks on the main door. Dresser was very dated and could have been nicer with a coat of paint. There was a little bit of black mold in the bathroom ceiling. Over all id give it a shot in the future after they have had a little bit of time to put some more work in. Over for the $142 with tax it...
Read moreWe booked two rooms (one room and one was considered an apartment) for parents weekend at Syracuse University. Clearly it is a very busy time in the area and this was the closest and really only option left by the time we made reservations. The bathrooms are dated and moldy. The bathroom towels are subpar at best (thankfully I had packed some). The fire detector in our room was missing, wires hanging out from the ceiling, which is a MAJOR issue. We were not in the room much, so I didn’t notice this until night two. When we were checking out, no one was in the office to report this. So I called the next day and the manager — instead of taking any responsibility — said I should have reported it sooner. How about doing a through check of rooms to prevent major safety issues? The living room in apartment one (AKA room 18) was spacious. The ceiling in the bathroom had a major leak and was peeling. And the mold was so gross we didn’t even shower the day we were leaving, it was such a turnoff. The phone in room 12 was absolutely disgusting and filthy. Take a look at the photos, they...
