This is a lovely farm with locally grown shiitake mushrooms and ethically raised beef. There is land to camp on with drinkable water spigots, and the occasional outdoor power outlet.
Over the summer they host festivals and concerts there are line ups and dates on their website.
The most popular, and longest running one is the Great Blue Heron a three day camping festival, with eclectic music focused around folk and rock genres.
It cost about $150 to get in all weekend. But if you can volunteer and it's free. Or come for only one day and it's less than $100.
There's venders, activities, and performances all weekend. Some people do bring drugs, and there are professional ""sanctuary"" and first aid tents, that can help people having a Bad time. But getting intoxicated is not the "main attraction" there are tons of fun interactive things to do that are completely legal. And most long term attendees are there for the community and music.
One of the most family appropriate music festival fun. Been going my whole life. There's arias designated for kids and teens to play, and a "quiet" camping aria. Crafts, activities and demonstrations that'll you and your kids can...
Read moreI had never been to this venue before, and I have to say, I was impressed. I went for the "Night Lights Music Festival," which is probably a good thing as they forest was lit up beautifully as soon as the sun went down, the music rocked, and the people were some of the nicest and most laid-back I'd ever met (probably had something to do with the copious amounts of alcohol and other chemicals floating around the place, but whatever). Oh, and the locally-sourced food there was fantastic, if a bit on the pricey side. It's not a cheap endeavor, however. Although most of the stuff there is fair-priced, there's a lot of overhead to cover so it can get expensive quickly.
If you're easily offended by scraggly beards, loud music, open conversation about drug use, public displays of affection, bare feet, and men wearing women's clothing, stay away (for everybody's sake). Everyone else seems welcome and encouraged to...
Read moreGorgeous campgrounds. Heron is like coming home every summer. The Great Blue Heron Music Festival really is best small festival ever. The grounds are gorgeous, and anyone would be lucky to attend any event here. The farm store is one of WNY's best kept secrets... the BEST farm fresh eggs, and the meat selection is amazing! Best. Steaks. Ever. In July we come for the dancing, music, friends, and sunshine, and we always leave with a cooler full of meat.
EDIT: I'm not sure how to reply, but YES - please feel free to use my comments or photos; I have plenty more from past years as well. The Heron grounds are truly magical. The Great Blue Heron Music Festival always feels like home, the nicest people; it's always the perfect combination of wild fun and peaceful relaxation, where we can all just be ourselves. Night Lights is always a summer highlight as well, we love...
