We are camping here this summer. The volleyball net is not useable. It’s right in front of one of the rental campers, so if you do try to play you are hitting the rental unit. The rental bicycles are mostly broken and outdated and barely work. We rented 2, and both have been here since my family camped here YEARS ago. The chain falls off, the seats don’t adjust, they’re just old and outdated. It’s impossible to play kickball, whiffle ball or anything like that. There are 2 playing fields available, and they put up a party tent in the middle of one field so between the party tent and the volleyball net and the rental campers the field is not kid friendly. The other field has horseshoe pits, and they put in a dog fenced area behind the horseshoe pits, so this field is also not kid friendly. The sandbox is full of weeds and unkempt. They do have horseshoe and corn-hole tournaments, outdoor movies and live music on holiday weekends. And they had fireworks on the 4th. It’s hard for kids to keep busy during the day as the activities are mostly adult oriented. The biggest downgrade is that they took away the fields so they are not kid friendly, and what they do have for the kids (rental bikes and playground) are outdated, unkempt and/or broken. The bathrooms are ok, they’re also old and outdated. The camp store is decent, but not the most welcoming place to go into. It’s difficult to use the laundry area or the “game room” as there always seems to be someone’s pot luck meals on the tables, so you’re made to feel like you’re intruding. This is the same area as what they call the “game room” for the kids. The upside is the pool is clean and the staff...
Read moreI have mixed reviews on this campground. The good kind of canceled out the bad. Campground is small the campsites are very close together. I would say the campground needs a little bit of maintenance to take care of some issues fist is the bathroom were some what clean their was areas that need a little attention. The showers were not working correctly. Even though the shower heads were changed the second day we were there. Water flow wasn't even enough to rinse soap off your body never mind trying to wash your hair. The pool was very dirty and needed cleaning. I'm not talking daily leaves or dirt that might get in. Their was multiple spots of bird shit in the deep end that had been there for a while. Another down side was there was no place that I had found to dishes. Quite time ?? What is that the motohome 4 sites up from us were still going strong at 2:30 in the morning. The creek side sites were nice to sit out by the fire. The little pond to fish out front was ok. And kept us entertained for awhile. The Saturday activities were a nice touch. The band was very good and played longer than advertised witch wasn't a bad thing. The micro brew truck was ok for people who are into that. Would I stay at this campground aigan. I don't know probably. Would I recommend it to people. Probably not but if someone was saying they were camping here. I wouldn't tell them not to. I guess when the 2 biggest reason that we stay in a campground is bathroom/shower and pool or swimming area and when that is pretty much all your offer then I think they fell a...
Read moreWe were just passing through NY on our way home and needed a place that worked for travel time. The campground was clean and has a pool. The bathrooms were clean but a dated. We arrived on Saturday afternoon and the place was buzzing. A craft fair, cornhole tournament, food truck and what looked like a family reunion or Birthday party all going on. Saturday evening had live music and it was great! The campground seems to be 80% local seasonal sites. No sewer hook ups, but a decent easy to use dump station. The sites are pretty tight together, with a handful being “buddy” sites which are great when your with your buddy, but a bit awkward when it’s not. In our 2 nights here we had 2 different neighbors that pulled in late in the evening and gone by 8 am they were both friendly so it wasn’t too bad. The staff was friendly and helpful. This campground is fine for a quick overnight or 2 but wouldn’t be a destination for more than that. Also be sure to follow the signs for the KOA not the GPS when coming off the highway. The campground is actually pretty close to the exit, but you need to take the long way (4-5 miles) around to get there due to a super sharp/steep turn that even a small trailer wouldn’t make. The last KOA we stayed at had a similar roadway hazard and sent out a text message about route to take to the campground on the morning of our check in which was a nice touch and would be something for this campground to consider. Again good for a quick stop, but wouldn’t go for an...
